i have been getting my head ready for starting induction--have gone back
and forth between "heck, i can do MY OWN version" to "Do it as set forth
in the plan (Atkins)"....but ultimately, from reading here, i have
decided to follow the plan.  i have done "my own" versions of low carb,
but while i lost on those plans and maintained IF i incorporated
exercise, i realize i was doing mainly HIGH protein--too much at times.
so, while i did just eat a few kit kat bites (ouch) i have to
admit--they gagged me and the pizza slice another day did the same.  and
the cheese cubes and grilled tuna bites for breakfast and the big salad
w/avocado and cukes with a tuna steak last night left me way more
satisfied. so i guess........I'M READY to start.  getting my head in the
right place is harder than going w/o the sweets.  now, i've got to get
back on that exercise horse!

I was *more* than ready to start too.  I had planned to join the Y and
start low-carbing on the 1st.  I joined the Y a few days early and
ended up having gone in for 3 wokouts before my start date.  And New
Year's Eve, I went grocery shopping for my last "splurge" of cabrs and
ended up buying a rotisserrie chicken and a big salad.

Interesting way to "cheat" on one's diet.  ;)

Hehe.  That's the opposite of what I did.  I kept thinking I
really wanted to start, but then I had all these carby things here
I wanted to get rid of (by eating) first, because I didn't want to
be wasteful.  After doing that a few times, I decided I really had
to just chuck it all (and give whatever I could away) or I'd never
get started.

I am throwing out the junk tonight, shopping tomorrow for induction
foods. This is the first time trying it. Added some exercise allready.
Been walking around the block with my dog, three times this week so
far. Getting my exercise bike out too this weekend. I feel like this
is really going to work. Its the way I want to eat the rest of my life
too.

That's the key, too, isn't it?  Not just dieting til you get the
weight off, but adopting LC as a way of life.  (Not induction
levels, but with plenty of nice healthy veggies, some fruit,
etc.--as defined by one's body.)
