Hi All
Could someone answer this for me please
I am going out to dinner tonight and I will be ordering a Caesar salad, I
won't eat the croutons.  But what about the dressing?
I am on Atkins.  What do people do about the dressing.
Will await your replies.
Thanks in advance.

Every restaurant is likely to have a different recipe, but I imagine
you'll get far more carbs from the romaine than from the dressing.

If you're past the induction stage, I wouldn't worry about it.

Most people eat it.

Hint:  look up a couple of Caesar salad recipes.  You
should find nothing to cause any concern.

Don't worry about it.  A nice Chicken Caesar salad without the bread is a
good meal.

that's just silly.

The romaine, the anchovies, the parmesan cheese?

it's not a caesar salad without the dressing.  if you want anchovies and
cheese with your lettuce, that's fine.  just don't call it a caesar
salad.

Then call it something else.  It is the Caesar Dressing that makes
it a Caesar Salad.

Except that most Caesar salads don't have authentic Caesar dressing which in
better restaurants is mixed at tableside and contains a raw egg.

The egg is coddled, not raw.  However we progress, and we
no longer eat Amanita Phalloides either.

I will ask for olive oil instead of the usual dressing OR
if I know I am going out to eat ahead of time I ask for no dressing on
the salad and bring a small container of olive oil with me.
