I have gone 2 days now without caffeine and sugar. The headaches are
getting to me big time, but sticking in there. Being hard on myself
too, for not listening to others on eliminateing these things from my
diet that are very addicting. Been haveing alot of hunger today too.
Nausea along with it. I am really determined though, to stick it out.
I guess I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.

I had the headaches for 3 days. I hope your headaches will stop soon.

Many people continue to consume caffeine without ill effects.  If
you want to give it up, try weaning yourself gradually instead of
going cold turkey.  Don't torture yourself.

truly.  i used to over-consume caffeine in a big way, but i have
switched to half-caf/half-decaf and it does me just fine.

Jean is right: if you really want to quit for good, it's better for most
people to taper off gradually than it is to go cold turkey.  the
caffeine withdrawal headache is a painful one that i don't ever want to
get again, and wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

hang in there, Sunshyne.  if you are hungry, you could try some plainly
cooked chicken and green salad.  eat as much as you need to get rid of
the hunger.

I have  been LCing for 2 months. My headaches didn't start until about 2
weeks ago and they have been raging. Still drinking at least one diet coke a
day. And so much further into this, not during induction. I drink tons of
water, eat plenty, including snacks if I want them. Any ideas?

Wow!   Poor you!  Sounds like it may not be related to LCing.  I
wonder whether you started eating anything new at about that
time--something that you eat every day?  I ask because I get
headaches if I eat chocolate or cinnamon every day.

Good point....every time I get a terrible headache I can trace it back to
some nitrite laced food (usually from processed meat).  The problem is, I
don't get the headache *every* time, so I continue to play russian roulette
???

Are you sleeping enough?  Are you stressed out about anything?  Do you have
any sinus problems?   You also may have a food allergy or sensitivity.

I have only 3 flaws.  My first flaw is thinking that I only have 3 flaws.

The headaches have eased today some. Its not as intense. When dropping
the caffeine sugar loaded soft drinks, I also started sleeping better.
Slept alot yesterday, last night, today. Got a little more energy
today too. I did try lower caffeine coffe, with Splenda. It helped
too.

I havn't really started the induction, but been eating healthier. More
salads, no junk food, eating meat and  eggs, some cheese, etc.  Going
shopping tomorrow, cleaning out the fridge tonight too. Made a grocery
list. Picking up vitamins like suggested in the book.

I weighed myself last week, I was around 264.
I weighed myself this morning. 252.  I havn't been below 250 in 3
years. I havn't been below 200 in 10 years. I am getting excited! But
that much weight lost in less than a week?

Been rereading the book again too. So to make sure to understand it
well.

I drink coffee like there was an iv attached to my arm.  actually, the
caffeine removes free radicals from your system.  I've found if my last cup
is around 4:30-5:00, I'm fine at night.

Thanks for the info on caffeine, the wonderful support received!

Thanks for the ideas. I will start tracking what I eat for the day when the
headaches arrive. I would love to track down the source.

I had migraines for YEARS (like 20 years) ... Debilitating ones.
I've cut nutrasweet from my diet, and have not had a migraine since 30 days
after stopping. It was the only change I made at that time.
