Hello folks, my girlfriend and I are just starting the Atkins diet, and
everything seems to be going smoothly (I had a horrible time the first two
days, but stuck with it and now I feel great). However, tomorrow we have an
unavoidable family engagement and have to go to Ruby Tuesdays. I'm a very
finicky eater, which makes eating at home much, much easier on me, and
there's not a lot of the "low-carb" Ruby Tuesday items that really appeal to
me. However, I love ribs, and I've seen people mention various dry rub
recipes and I noticed that Ruby Tuesday offers a "Memphis Rub", but I can
find zero nutritional information about it. Does anyone have any clue
whether this would be an acceptable meal (without the sides of course)?
For the record tomorrow will be day 5 of Induction :-)
Thanks for any help,

Call Ruby Tuesday (or better yet, make your girlfriend call) and ask them
for the nutritional information on the Memphis Rub ribs.

I asked the manager at my locat RT about ribs. They DO have dry rubbed
ribs but the rub -- I SUSPECT -- is loaded with sugar and therefore is
NOT low carb. The manager DID indicate that corporate is investigating
a dry rub without sugar so they can add ribs to their low carb menu.

When it doubt, get steak and broccoli. Or chicken and broccoli.
Or, order the regular ribs and ask them to leave off the barbeque sauce. I
used to do that all the time in my early days of LCing -- these days I don't
eat ribs that much.

Yup - ask for the sauce on the side. We ate at Grizzley's the other
night and that's what I did. Their sauce definatly had sugar in it, so
I used only a trace over my ribs and they were still fantastic.
I find that my sensitivity to taste is much keener now, so a very
little sauce still went a long way.
