Thank you Budweiser for Michelob Ultra.

2 nice ice cold glasses and only 5.8 carbs.   It makes a nice Friday night
treat.

Better than red wine as far as carbs go.

Ugh.  Nasty stuff in my opinion.  More for you!

Depending on your opinions and your CCLL they do.  A bottle of
Guinness is in the 12-15 range.  A small amount less than
regular Budweiser but with no parallel in quality of flavor.

At 15 grams you may not be able to have a second one, but I'd
rather have 1 Guinness than 4 Budweisers any day.

It isn't all that long before most plans will allow you 15.

yep, he was wrong.  a pint of guiness is only 5.2 grams of carbs.

Guinness is brewed in a fifty-one countries and the carbohydrate count for
this product seemingly varies from an anecdotal 5.20 grams of carbohydrates
per 12-ounce serving (from Stout by Michael J. Lewis; Brewers Publications,
1995), up to a documented 17 grams or so, depending on where it's brewed.
The home office for Guinness (Diageo) says a 14-ounce serving comes in at 10
carbs. The Guinness in Australia, however, (contract-brewed by Fosters) hits
the high end.no understanding why. Just did a check with the Lion-Nathan
Brewery for their version of Guinness Draught for New Zealand---5.50 carbs
in a 12-ounce serving. In Nigeria, Africa, where three Guinness breweries
are located, local grains such as maize and sorghum are used in the dark
brew. So how many carbs in Guinness? Which Guinness and from where? I give
up!

My advice? When in doubt, leave it out or take this advice.the draft
(draught) version hits the lower end of the carb range.

Translation: My cite of the range 12-15 was pessimistic.  The problem with
my statement "I would rather have 1 Guinness than 4 Budweisers" is that I
left out the word "Light".  I would rather have 1 Guiness than 4 Bud Lites,
give that by the above the 1 Guinness will have at most the same amount of
carbs as the 4 Bud Lites.  I would rather have 1 Guinness that 4 Miller Lites
or any other Lite for the same reason.  And if I happen upon one of those
5.20 gram Guinnesses, ah well I'll never know that I could have had a second
one.  ;^)

Ya may guess from my screen name that I'm a homebrewer, and I really miss great
beers. I can't drink that lite commercial stuff except maybe once in a while as
a summertime "lawnmower beer".  I'd rather simply "cheat" once in a while if
I'm at a brewpub or other place with really good beer on tap.  Enjoy the heck
out of it, keep the rest of the meal nice and low carb, and just go back on
program the next day. Once in a while ain't gonna kill you!  As Ben Franklin
said " beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy"

Magic beer with the carbs removed.  Comes in concentrated form.
Just add water and it reconstitutes into beer accept for the
carb count.  Like any carb-free product, it is not really the
same as the full-carb original product, but folks get used to
low carb substitutes in time.

Mic Ultra is like making love in a canoe.

It is f.cking near water. (Thanks, Monty Python)

I'll take the carb hit when I have to.

my favorite subject Tom, thank you.

Beer = sugar
sugar = baaadd ju ju

low carb or not, beer is off the menu.

wine however is lean on sugars AND low carb, so go for it.
psssssssssssst did I mention we have a fine range of top
merlots and shiraz/cabs here in Aussie, get them before the
currency exchange makes them unaffordable for those not
Antipodean.

btw,, ever tried having TWO Good beers?

Cheers

Not true.

Most wine is much higher in sugars than Michelob Ultra.

But why quibble.  Limit yourself to one glass of either per day.
More that that and you enter into the statistical categories that have
more cancer and other diseases.
