Hello Fellow Low-Carbers:
It's delightful to see how much new "stuff" there is for us now. What an
honor to be on the carb cutting edge (again<G>). Thumbs up for Hood Carb
Counter dairy beverage. Cuts down on cream consumption a bit. Never could
drink black tea or coffee. One cup a day now down from pots and pots, but it
has to be white. (Hood product is also good for taking medications: nasty,
face-puckering, please-God-don't-let-it-melt-in-my-mouth-life-saving
pharmaceutical wonder.) Otherwise, Bigelow green tea with peach flavor is a
good whistle wetter when water is just too bland.
My recent goal was to stay the same weight between Halloween and New Year's
instead of regaining the prior year's weight loss plus some. Done! Yay! I
weigh the same as I did in October. Believe it or not, I look on this as a
major achievement. It's a first time ever. Every dang year, I'd regain all
my hard-earned losses plus some in the party season. That darn sweet tooth!
This year I was well armed with l-c treats and good foods and held my own.
Now, to start the losing again...hopefully 5 lbs. before doctor's visit on
the 19th. Induction, how do I love thee?
My long-suffering doc will finally understand why in the last three months I
have been "stalled." One month I even refused to be weighed as I knew it was
exactly the same as the month prior (Feel the power!) Imagine, _refusing_
to allow a nurse to weigh you. The unmitigated gall. I can still see her
face. She just couldn't believe that I could say "No, I don't want to be
weighed today." I promised her that she wouldn't get in trouble and the doc
knew better than to even mention it. We had a respectful and honest
discussion of really important things like morning blood sugars below 120
and blood pressure in normal range.
I thought I'd just stop in for a while, like in the old days. It's nice to
see some old faces and plenty of new ones. Lots of people losing lots of
weight and gaining so many other things. It's a good thing.
Much happiness,
Mary Ellen

Have you tried Celestial Seasonings Raspberry Gardens Green Tea? Very nice.
Your refusal to be weighed reminds me of when I delivered my last child--I
refused to let them shave me, threw the tray with the shaving equipment on
the floor. Don't mess with a woman in labor!
