this is a repeat announcement, but for the newbies:
have you been to the produce department and seen the salad toppings
by SUNKIST?
they are called:

ALMOND ACCENTS and make great toppings for your salads!
we love them!

I haven't noticed them.
How do they differ from any other sliced or slivered almonds?

That doesn't list complete ingredients, or label nutrition info.
(the "nutritional info" link just leads to generic blurble about almonds)

I think I'd rather toast or saute and season my own.  The large bags of
sliced almonds that I get from Sam's for tossing in things or grinding
almond meal are pretty cheap.

It did have a lot of recipes for them listed (although most of them
looked pretty disgusting to me).

Ah.  I think MY problem is that I only saw the honey ones the only
time I looked, so I didn't get them.  I'll have to look again.

And there's a 75 cent off coupon for them almost every week, so that's
$1.50 off when they double it.  I've bought them, they add a little
extra flavor and crunch to a salad.     Kalish

I need to put them on my list so I remember to look again.  I hope
they (S&S) are stocking something other than honey now.  I like
those Just The Cheese things crumbled into a salad for crunch.  (I
didn't much like them on their own.)

I agree...they (the Just the Cheese) have a nasty burned taste for
some reason, underneath the flavoring (kinda like soy, but I don't
think there's any soy in them).  At my S&S, the almond accents are
under the bananas, for some odd reason.  At Star they're in a basket
among the tomatoes...

Guess I need to look some more.  Months ago, the honey ones were
with the raisins, etc.  Not with most of the other nuts.  I guess
they could be anywhere near the produce.

They are slivered almonds with added seasonings. I've tried a few of the
flavors and they are really quite good. I just eat them as a snack, though, not
on salads.
