apologies if this posts twice, my original post never showed up....

so, i'm on day 13 of the south beach diet, and not seeing the kind of weight
drop i thought i would. i haven't cheated at all. i'm a vegetarian, so i've
been eating lots of eggs, lowfat cheese, salads, celery, and soy protein
products. i cut back on the cheese (not mixing it with my morning eggs, and
none for snacks) after week 1, as i have read here that cheese can be the
culprit in some cases. i started at 144, i'm at 142, i'm 5'8 and want to lose
at least 10 more lbs. i have been eating 1150 -1350 calories a day. i have been
doing cardio and light work-outs, like yoga and floor mat pilates, 4 -6 days a
week.
on the plus side - my energy level is much improved, and my mood is better, but
i'm pretty upset about not losing more. i thought by just cutting out bagels
and wine, i'd lose at least 5 lbs! and i've done much more than that....
an friend on atkins suggested i get the ketostix, which i did and i am in
ketosis. isn't it unusual that i'm not dropping more weight?
do you think it coulld be the soy products? veggie bacon, boca sausages etc?
any advice would be much appreciated! i'm sticking with it but i'm pretty
discouraged.

you're already at the normal weight range for your height.  your metabolism
is probably slowing down so you don't loose too much weight.  our bodies
have a way of trying to keep us healthy.  it's kind of cool.

Maybe you need more exercise exercise like walking or biking?  Prevention
magazine often has a lot of info about walking and probably is online at
something like    www.prevention.com  or try Google with prevention
walking.

i have been eating 1100-1350 calories a day.
my weight gain creeped up on me, although i had not changed my diet or exercise
regimen.
i'm displaying symptoms of hypothyroidism, i.e. low morning temperature of 96,
among other things, so i am going to get tested next week.
