What I can't get grips with is that with articles like this and others
I've seen, why are we still being brainwashed (by non LC advocates,
the media etc) to believe that a diet low in fat is required to reduce
LDL?

For starters, I think it is: manufacturers of bread and pasta products;
growers of wheat, rice, other grains, etc.; PETA; and especially advocates
of low fat diets and members of the medical community who also advocate low
fat diets IMHO.  What I can't understand is that if, say for instance, the
Atkins diet has been around since the '70s, why have there been no long term
studies on the physical long-term effects of a low carb diet?
