My latest Subway experience :)

Jim Marnott - 18 Jan 2004 14:49 GMT Some of you may remember my experience at Subway a few weeks ago. I went in, asked for an Atkins Wrap and the guy behind the counter was a little unclear on the concept. He essentially gave me the wrong type of wrap. It was made with white flour instead of whole wheat. I didn't know the difference, because I had never seen one before and only realized it later.
Well, I went back to the same Subway yesterday, told what appeared to be the manager my story and he said "No problem, I'll give you a free one."
"Ok, great," I said.
I ordered two wraps and when it came time to pay, he asked me how many wraps the guy got wrong last time. I told him two (which was true) and he gave me BOTH wraps free.
So, in the end, my experience with Subway was great. I WILL be going back to Subway, and to that particular one, whenever I can. This manager understands the concept of customer satisfaction. For about $8 or $10 he bought himself a customer for life.

Cubit - 18 Jan 2004 23:16 GMT The description of the LC wraps at Subway includes green pepper. I hate green pepper. Is the stuffing premixed for the LC wrap, or does the employee manually make the stuffing for the wrap?
I'm wondering if I can order it without green pepper.

You can order it without the green pepper. Like all other subway sandwiches, they make it right in front of you.

They have bins of stuff layed out that you can choose from. Getting it without green pepper is as easy as asking...

This is the good news for ANY dieters out there. You can have ANY Subway 6" you want in the wrap instead of just the preset menu. I ended up dropping off the olives from the Atkins wrap, and go with a more low fat variety of a 6" I used to do (roast chicken, with southwest, letuce, sweet peppers, onion and tomato).
So, the new wraps seem to be a good way for ANY dieter to cut bad carbs from the diet.

Actually the one I ate today, I asked for extra veggies. So you can pretty well get it how you want it.
I was really excited they had finally made it to our Subway.

I'm not even officially a low-carber and I liked it a lot! (More a modified carber here...)

Mike McNeil - 19 Jan 2004 23:52 GMT Been having that the past few days... the chicken bacon ranch wrap. the green peppers you can't even taste. All you notice with them is the crunch at most.

Danny Ayers - 19 Jan 2004 21:21 GMT Yes, you can actually get ANY Subway sandwhich made on a low-carb wrap for .50 more.
I typically get the chicken bacon ranch without the ranch and add jalapeno peppers.

Here in the middle of nowhere (Lincoln, Nebraska), the price of the wraps varies between the Subway stores on the north side of town (less expensive) and the south side. Also, it costs $.99 here to make any 6" sub a wrap.
