We started the induction Saturday. Here is a sample of what we had to
eat so far.
Day 1
Breakfast-3 egg omelette with swiss chesse and ham
Lunch-Chicken Salad with Ranch Dressing
Dinner-Salmon with seasonings and lemon. 2-3 cups salad
Snack-hard boiled egg, olives
Day 2
Breakfast-2 scrambled eggs 1 sausage
Lunch-hamburgers with fried vegetables in it, with melted swiss cheese
Dinner-Pork Chops, Large Salad with variety of veggies allowed during
induction. Chedder cheese also on top of salads.
Snack-My sons were hungry still so they had a small portion of
brcoccoli and cauliflower with a serving of ranch dressing. I had
olives. We all had a slice of cheese. I had a hard boiled egg.
One of my sons also skipped breakfast on the second day because of
sleeping in late.
We did measurements and weigh ins too on Saturday morning. We have all
drank the amount of water needed. We all had hunger in between meals
on the first day. Mine has diminished along with appetite on the
second day. My salads filled me up after eating just half of it. So,
the second day I ate alot less than the first. But then I sort of
started eating better a couple days before induction time. My sons
both said that they noticed their urine when going to the bathroom is
alot lighter. So I think thats good too. Cravings for sugar is way
down also. They say they do have them at times though. I also had a
cup of coffee/lighter kind. with Splenda for sweetner.
So how do you all think we are doing?

wow a family on Atkins! makes meal planning easier! good luck sounds like
you guys are off to a good start- remind everyone to eat something at least
every 6 hours- keeps the body running right.
If this is the first diet for the teens, educate on how the body loses
weight. It goes in steps, so there will be a stall where the body is
catching up with the changes- a good thing! hang in there and the ride down
will continue if you stay the course.

I think you're doing GREAT! It's really wonderful that your boys are doing this
WITH you -- you can all support each OTHER and they are learning valuable lessons
that will stand them in good stead for the rest of their lives!

I hope too that the Atkins will be the way of life for my sons. I keep
reading some interesting stuff about the Atkins, and what it can do
for ones health.
Didn't do too good on water yesterday. Woke up this morning really
thirsty. Done exceeded the amount of water supposed to drink daily. Is
it right that a extra 8 ounces of water per day, per every 25 pds
overweight?
I weighed myself on Saturday. Was 260. This morning, couldn't resist
the urge. I weighed in at 254.
Trying to figure out what exercise to start. Its too cold outside to
walk far. But then, got the energy to do so. So been whipping around
my house, doing some cleaning. Got alot of energy today!
Cravings, and addictions are passed and gone!! Yeah!!
