My view on Atkins Cornbread Mix

Hola,

I was craving home made chili for some time now.  Back in 1997 I lived in Texas and I got to appreciate a good bowl
of chili with cornbread.

On the other hand, I am not fond of these new low carb
products that usually taste awfull.

Ok, with that in mind, I tried the Atkins Cornbread with my
chili.  At least the  chili was very good, because the
cornbread was OK.  It was too sweet and even crunchy (the
ingredients listed grits).

I know that some of you like all these new products, I am
more of a homestyle, natural cook.  I think, I may try
something else in the future.  Well, that was my review.

Did you have the old recipe cornbread or the new recipe cornbread, which has now
been replaced by the old recipe.  In the new recipe you use cream when making
it.  I find it to be more crunchy and less favorful than the old recipe.  Plus
it has a lot more carbs - 8 per serving vs 3.  Apparently Atkins got enough
complaints about the new recipe that in their latest catalog they appear to have
gone back to the old recipe.  They did the same with the blueberry muffin mix.
Wish I didn't still have two packages of the new mix in the cupboard.

They did it to the blueberry muffin too. I thought they tasted fine. I
made cranberry orange atkins muffins yesterday and they are the best
yet. They are a full body muffin not cakey like the others and not too
sweet so there is little after taste. The sour dried cranberries add a
nice little zing to your bite too. They are half the carbs too

So these are the old formula?  I'd like less-cakey ones.  Next
time there's a sale...
