hi all:

I started Atkins on Monday, January 19 at a weight of 195lbs I'm 5'8' so I'm a llittle overweight.

opinions on my "normal" weight?

My question is if I go to McDonald's and have a big Mac was a blindfold on is it still cheating?

No seriously my question is is there anything that I can snack on as in semi-continuously?

after all I ate on awful lot of fruit (Apples) and snacked on mixed nuts, always having one or the other in my mouth (more or less)

All comments welcome...

It may be that by restricting the range of snacks you can have,
Atkins could help you get out of that habit :-)
But I guess cheese is an option?

That fruit you snacked on put much of that weight on, so lay off the
fruit for a few weeks.  It is full of sugar.

And just about any meat is good to snack on.  Always throw away the
bun or biscuit.

Atkins gives a desireable weight chart but it would vary even more
depending upon muscle mass:
5' 8" Male Small Frame   132-141
5' 8" Male Medium Frame  138-152
5' 8" Male Large Frame   147-166

Well you don't want to have food in your mouth all the time. Sounds
like a good habit to break on Atkins. Use snacks between meals. You
should never NOT eat within a six hour period, so an afternoon snack
is a must for a lot of people's schedule.

These are all safe suggestion for Induction Phase and later.

- Hard boiled eggs, deviled eggs (recipes can vary the filling)
- A Meat and Cheese combo rolled up  (Ham and swiss, pepperoni[o
nitrates/sugars added] & cheddar, turkey & jalapeno jack)
- Celery(some carbs & fiber) & a dip (tuna salad, chicken salad- with
extra mayo)
- Olives(some carbs & fiber)

After Induction you can have a few nuts as a snack. Atkins suggests
using the best most flavorful nut for your taste this way it is the
most satisfying. He preferred Macadamia. The fat content satisfies.
Still have to count the carbs. Can't eat a whole bag.
