Hello, everyone. I lost 35 lbs. low carbing a year or so ago. I
have held fairly steady (I haven't weighed lately, maybe I
shouldn't say that), but I still need to lose some weight and
improve my cholesterol so I'm going back to the low carb. I had a
heart attack in May, nothing big but I have a stent in and I'm
more conscious of my mortality. :-)

Now that everyone has jumped on the LC bandwagon, I'm anxious to
find out if some of the new products are do-able. I'm looking
forward to seeing how everyone is progressing and sharing
recipes.

Why did you quit Atkins?   It is supposed to be a lifetime WOE.

Thanks for the welcome.

Sheena,

I'm new to doing Atkins, so I don't yet have experience with any of the
Atkins products (or restaurant offerings, for that matter).  What I find
"doable," however, is *following* Atkins' guidelines and trying to
restructure my eating habits in a sensible way --  which I can follow for
life (I guess that's why it's called a "way of eating"!).

There are lots of recipes at http://atkins.com/ and people post things
frequently to this newsgroup.

Hi, Anne. I haven't bought any Atkins products except for the
book. The only low carb treat I have ever tried were the
Carbolite chocolate bars. I learned to stay away from them
because they tend to lead to craves for me.

I quit smoking a year ago and managed to not gain any weight by
restricting carbs. Now I'm ready to restrict them even more. :-)
