Please help me. I need ideas.  I have to stay away from any dairy
products because of allergies.  Any ideas?  and what is exactly
classified as dairy products?  Thanks for your help group.

Have you ever tried acidophilus milk?

I've never heard of acidophilus milk?  Is it carby?
I was more worried about mayonaise, cheese, and eggs?  They play a big
role in my diet.  There is really nothing else for me to eat but meat
and veggies.  What is this type of milk and where can you get it?

Eggs and mayonnaise are not dairy products.  Cheese is since it is made from
milk.  How do you know you are allergic to diary products?  What kind of
reaction do you get when you eat them?  Digestive problems, rashes?

I have a problem with fluid in my ears.  Doctor said milk products are
the #1 cause of this problem.  I always have stuffy sinuses and ears
are plugged.  I get dizzy because of it.  She wants me to stay away
from dairy.

Many people find their allegies aggravated by dairy, but very often not
by butter or heavy cream, because the protein amount in them is trace
for butter and very small for heavy cream unless the brand has added
mild solids.

Some lowcarbers find improvement when they cut out dairy, but others find
that wheat or corn causes more sinus problems than dairy.  My allergies
are aggravated badly by corn or corn syrup, somewhat by wheat, and not
at all by dairy.

Pre-LC I was on allergy meds year round.  While LCing and avoiding corn,
I only need them for a few weeks during spring tree pollen season and
fall ragweed season.  If I eat corn, or a soft drink made from corn
syrup, my nose starts running, my sinuses clog up and my chest gets
mildly asthmatic.

It's milk aka dairy.  If you are allergic the fact that it has the
word milk in it is all you need.

Real homemade mayo has no dairy.  Bottled stuff, read the label.

> cheese

Dairy.

Dairy comes from cows, sheep, and goat tits.  Egg come from chickens.
Chickens don't have tits.

> There is really nothing else for me to eat but meat and veggies.

That's not a very creative view of the world.  There are unlimited
recipes that do not use dairy.

You are so right.  I wasn't thinking.  Thank you.

I accuse the typical grocery store of not thinking, not you.  The
standard place to find eggs in any grocery store is a refrigerated
section labelled Dairy.  What's up with that?  It's as dumb a label
as finding Spam in the row that just says "Canned fish".  Uhm, okay,
so Spam is canned fish, then?  Right.

In another post you mentioned that you have problems that look like
allergies so your doctor suggested you probably have a diary allergy.
Maybe, maybe not.  Try a month without dairy and see how it goes.
That's only a guess on the doctor's part.  Thinking it may be an
allergy is a good guess.  Thinking it may be dairy is a guess without
the word good added, a lower percentage shot.  It could also be a
grain allergy.  They're at least as common as dairy allergies.  Eggs,
same deal.

If either of your parents are still alive, ask if you were a collicky
baby, if you needed to be given goat's milk, or similar.  If you
showed symptoms of dairy problems as a small child, you may have
outgrown most of thge symtpoms but not all.  That would increase the
chances that it's dairy.

Eggs are not a dairy product.  Cows don't lay them.
