I have found that I can eat just about all the friuts and vegetables I
want in a day and stay in keitosis. (at least that Im hungry for since
my appetite is nice and low)

Recently Ive eaten, 1/2 cantelope, 1 apple, 2 oranges, plus whatever
carbs from cream in coffee and sween-n-low, mabey some ketsup, and I
STAY in keitosis.

The other day I was really thirsty, kept drinking, and went to my
parents to checked my blood sugar with a home meter.  It was 107 -
perfect right?

Well last night I had a 7 up before bed plus all that friut and
figured it would take me out of keitosis.  And it didn't!!  So tonight
I went out and have a burger and fries and diet coke and a good
helping of a sweet desert .. And IM STILL in Keitosis! (but mabey its
early - just a few hours ago)

I am also lifting wieghts a lot.

Should I be concerned about being stuck in keisosis or getting out
only after 100+ grams of carbs in a day?  Or should I be happy that I
can eat as much fruit and vegetable as I do and get away with it?

Ive lost about 25-30 lbs in 5 months.  Mabey more if I gained
signifigant LBM from lifting weights to take into account.

Don't invest too much in the results until you see a week's worth at a
particular level. Daily variances happen and people aren't very
specific enough about how they weigh themselves causing even greater
variances (up to 6-7 pounds). Atkins says that many people can get
away with a high carb day in maintenance. He gives the example that if
your CCLM is 50/day you could do 40 each day and have 75 days on
tuesdays and saturday--allowing you to splurge a little and vary the
diet.

This probably means you have low metabolic resistance to loosing
weight- so weight loss should be easier for you.

I found that once I started working out at the gym, I could probably
double (or more) my carb intake and still stay in ketosis, but only on
the days I worked out.  The other days I kept my carbs to a more
reasonable level.  I don't use ketostix anymore, though.

Thx!

As it turns out, that 1 day of brugers and fries took me right out of
keitosis.  Then I felt my appetite hitting me really hard.  Im going
back in now and I think its great to be able to eat practically all
the fruits and veggies I want and stay in Keitosis.

I would recommend others who work out try this and see what you can
get away with.  When I test things out I use keitostix daily, and the
fruits and vegetables are great to eat since I think 20 carb a day is
a bit extreme, but I did it at first.

Seriously, I was having 2 oranges, a grape fuit, some brocholli, and a
big salad then bacon and eggs or something like that once a day and
would come home and test deep purple.

This could be a great lifestle with treats even now and then.  And
when on track, deep in keitosis, grapefruit tasts heavenly.

Some fruit on LC is fine, but too much incoming fructose will knock
you out of ketosis.  Something you should keep in mind -- when your
blood glucose level rises high enough your system will dump ketones
(because with plenty of glucose the body does not have a need for
them), they inturn end up in your kidneys, then expelled -- thereby
giving you a ketone reading on the stixs when in fact you're not in
ketosis.  That's why you might show a ketone reading at the end of a
high carb day and not be in ketosis the next.

Also, if you're trying to refill muscle glycogen to aid WT,  fructose
is not the best option.

Plus protein delays the sugars so as they are not absorbed as rapidly.
One main differance between aAtkins and Schwarzbeine Principle is the
allowance for more carbs IF taken with a protein food. Thus allowing a
more balance of foods for the day.
