I know it is an hour away est, but I wanted to wish everyone a happy day in
honor of Robert Burns. I had a few drinks tonight to honor him and had some
Haggis and such. I took a day off from the diet, but I'll be back on
tomorrow. It will be a long night sleeping due to the drinks. For some
reason when I am on low carb and drink for a night, it is hard to sleep. I
guess it is all the sugar?

He must have known some dieters.

Glad you were able to find haggis -- I was thinking of trying to make
a faux one (sheep parts being difficult to find) but have decided to
make some fish, something readily available in Scotland and NYC.
And a wee dram of Macallan.

Aye, Macallan. I found haggis at the dinner I was at last night in
celebration. I wasn't on the diet at dinner, but funny they had rice and I
really didn't have more than a tbsp full. I opted for the meat and haggis,
which isn't low carb, but it was a once in a year deal.
Didn't know if anyone on here would even know who Robert Burns is. He wrote
many poems and you may know one he wrote call Auld Lang Syne or Red, Red
Rose.
Anyway, nice to hear from someone out there that is enjoying the event.

That would be "To a Mouse".
"To a Louse" starts out 'Ha! whare ye gaun, ye crowlan ferlie!'
I love the line: 'Ye ugly , creepan, blastit wonner.'

Me too....haggis, neeps and tatties. First bite of potatoes in 2 and a
half years. Actually would have preferred more haggis! But the Balvenie
Doublewood Whisky was the best part. Now that I'm home, I'm back to my
WOE!
