Hi!
I've been on Atkins since October 13 and I've lost a total of 35 pounds from
my heaviest weight. I started out at 296 and now weigh in at 261. I
religiously followed induction for the first month, mainly because I wanted
to lose a total of about 136 pounds and eating this way makes me feel SOOO
much better. I haven't really missed the pasta, bread, potatoes, regular
soda, etc. Lately, I've not been counting my carbs (at least on paper, that
is) or been keeping them in a journal. I've been losing pretty steadily,
averaging about 1 to 3 pounds per week.
So my question is: should I keep doing what I'm doing until I'm closer to my
goal weight (say within fifty pounds), or should I make the jump and move on
into the Ongoing Weight Loss phase? I'm not doing strict Induction now, as
I occasionally eat nuts and have been eating a little more vegetables. I
guess I'm just nervous about adding more foods to my diet, in case I start
to gain again. If I'm just *mental*, you can tell me that, too ;-).
Thanks! You all are my *lifelines*.

Hi Linda,
first of all CONGRATULATIONS!!
Good job!
If what you are doing works for you, why change it??
I would only change something if it was not working for me...and your loss
seems to be slow and steady.
Just keep doing it!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
But then be sure you are working toward a plan that you can follow for
the rest of your life.

there's no need to change if what you're doing is working for you. if
you get bored with your food choices or find yourself at a plateau,
that's the time to make changes.
