I am less than a week into induction, feeling great, losing lbs already, and
am thinking about the next phase. Do some people stay in induction longer
than 2 weeks? I know that the DANDR book says induction isn't a way of
eating forever, but I am a little afraid to veer away from something that's
working, and I wonder if just 2 weeks is enough to jump start my metabolism
(I am significantly insulin-resistant and haven't done too well on other
diets). Your opinions? Also, I read the chapter about adding 5 g. of carbs
per day....what do people usually add back? More veggies, more cheese, or ?
Thanks!!

I did the iduction an extra week before I went on to the next phase .
Also I added 5 carbs per week. I added more veggies back in slowly. I am
now at 45 carbs per day and I plan on staying at this level for a few
weeks. I hope this help you out

Yes, some people stay in induction longer than 2 weeks. But, it gets old
and you will want to start adding a few things. me? I added a tomato on my
salad. Also, I think that was "adding 5 carbs a day, but for the week."
That is, if you were on 20 carbs a day on induction, then the week after
that you can have 25 carbs a day for the week. the way I read your post, it
seemed as if you were adding 5 carbs every day on top of the first 5 carbs,
which would make you eating 55 carbs a day by the end of the third week.

Good question!
This is where you use your choice of carbs to add what you consider
'health' foods. Being an older male, I wanted to add more cooked
tomatoes, so I selected to add more salsa enriched with lycopene rich
tomatoes and anitoxidant rich onions, so that was my decision. Yours
will likely be different.
