Anybody notice changes in sleep habits?
After week two I started waking up early., before the alarm clock,
before the tick from the timer that turn on the plant lights. I now
wake up after 5 to 6.5 hours of sleep. I still want to sleep. For
example it is 5:38 am and I have nowhere to be today! No other
changes, no stresses. I do notice if I lay down to watch TV be it,
inthe afternoon or evening I will want to take a nap (1-1.5 hours),
but on most days I don't nap and I don't sleep longer to make up for
it. Case in point... yesterday woke up 7:15. Started shoveling snow at
8 AM, broke for breakfast, finished shoveling 11:30. At 12:30 napped
to rest my back til almost 2, had a snack cause I just wasn't
lunch-hungry. Had a snack at 4:00, dinner at 8:00 went to bed 11:15
woke 5 am. I shouldn't have been much more tired. My arms, legs and
back musles are sore from the work (and 1.7 lbs lighter than
yesterday!)

Being more awake, and energetic has been a definate plus for me on LC.
Sure feels better to me than laying on the couch with no energy and
wanting to snooze through life. :)
So yes.. I have to say i've noticed a big change in sleep habits for
myself.

I noticed my sleep is more sound and I would guess I get into REM sleep
faster and thus need less actual time in bed. Mostly from being able to
breath easier due to weight loss.
IIRC, sleep studies show that it is the amount of REM sleep that
refreshes you, not the total unconscious time.

I had a hard time falling asleep, and staying asleep before starting
Atkins a couple weeks ago. I also have Fibro, a hard time getting into
the last stage of sleep. I also did not have dreams much.
Now, I fall asleep more easily. I noticed this past week, I have been
dreaming more. I have been sleeping alot. Its not the fatigue sort of
sleep, but good natural sleep. Maybe making up for all the sleep I
have lost the last couple years. I have went through alot of different
sleep meds the last year also, and none worked for me. Its so
depressing and awful to be sleep deprived. I was like a waling zombie
at times.
