Hey all!
I am very excited about all of the restaurants in my area suddenly picking
up low carb menu's!  All of the locally owned, franchises,..etc are doing
it.  Not only that, my local grocery store now has incredible amounts of low
carb choices that can be bought at a low price (as for the local "specialty
store" I went to sometimes).
I am just thrilled about it, so if I want to eat out, I really don't have to
worry.  I was tired of always having to take the bun off, or order some
gross salad (semi-tired of salads) at every restaurant.
According to some report my friend read, that it's getting very popular and
soon there are going to be a lot more low carb food choices.
I find that to be somewhat of a relief.  It helps me to stay on it, having
more choices.

What kinds of specific choices do you have in mind?

My choices are things that have been out there awhile, but were either too
expensive, or I had to go to a special store to get them.

Low carb peanut butter for example.  Rarely do I want peanut butter.  I
could go to the health food store, and pick up some of that for about $6.99,
or I could go to Kroger and get it for $2.49.

There is just too many new choices to name:)

While I cannot speak for the OP (and would not attempt to do so), the
main example that comes to my mind is Ruby Tuesday.  I have several
friends that enjoy this restaurant.  When I changed my WOE, that didn't
mean giving up my friends.  I like the fact that I can go to Ruby
Tuesday and get something like cajun chicken with broccoli (I get double
broccoli, no cauliflower :-)) or turkey burger wrap with salad rather
than fries.    French fries are not something that I need in my life,
you know?  :-)  Also, I e-mailed the company and they sent me the
nutritional breakdown for everything on their new low carb menu.  I do
wish the cajun chicken were not so salty (I enjoy spices other than
salt!  LOL!) and I know that it isn't the greatest restaurant but it has
turned out to be a nice compromise.  My friends enjoy it, I enjoy it
because I am not stressed out about the meal.

I guess the main thing with me is offering alternative side items (sides
other than fries, mashed potatoes, etc.).  Having the nutritional info
available really helps as well.  Some restaurants have always been
really good about both of these things but I am glad to see more places
making it easy to "have it your way."

Yes, it was nice to shop at Albertsons and find a lot of LC options for
everyday things at decent prices. It's about time too.

Ruby Tuesday now has about a dozen explicitly low-carb dinners on their
menu. They all look pretty good. I had one of the chicken wraps, which had
about 25g total. Not for the ultra-low-carbers, but it's a place my family
likes to go and now they have stuff I can eat besides the salad bar.
