Hi all.
This is Revek's husband posting for her.
I know how much this group means to her, so I m here to inform you that
she is back in the hosptial with complications.
The doctor put her back in on the 20th after the test he had done the
19th showed a high White blood count, along with the sharp pains she was
haveing in her upper chest area. The right lung was partially collapsed
from Pneumonia and they think there is an abscess in the area of her
resent surgery.
The doctor has her on breathing treatments and is pumping her full of
antibiotices. As of today (Sunday) she is doing much better

Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and healing vibes. The virtual
hugs helped too, late at night when it was so very lonely. I'm home
again, hopefully this time to stay (it was touch and go there most of
the week, waiting to see if I stayed fever free or if he had to open me
up again and hunt for an abcess). This time the doctor decided I am to
continue my IV antibotics rather than switch to a possibly less
effective oral. So I have had my first in home nurse visit today to
show me how to change out the bags, clear the line, flush my port (a
peripheral line in my left wrist which cramps my typing ability), etc.
Very weird experience. I feel so much better I think I could stand
going back to work except with a peripheral IV port that would be a bit
dangerous as I'm likely to bang it on something and yank it out of the
vein which has miraculously held for more than 24 hours (still also
having the night sweats). My arms look like they're a transplant from a
junkie. Suggestion for anybody who might end up in the hospital: when
the doctor says to do your breathing excercises on the incento-meter, do
it, no matter how much it sucks. They had to put me on the nebulizer
and that hurt so much with a half collapsed lung I insisted on a
morphine shot before I could be tortured with the horrid thing. And I
absolutely hate morphine.
I'm tied down by my IV for a week, and then I'm sprinting for the hills,
and I'll go down fighting before they get me near a hospital bed again.
;)
To make this vaguely on topic, I really do feel that if I hadn't been
lowcarbing, I probably wouldn't have made it. I have never ever ever
felt such bone deep weakness (even after I hemorraged with my first
baby) as I did when my appendix went so very bad. I believe the lowcarb
lifestyle gave me the basic health and strength to fight that I wouldn't
have had if I'd still been eating a 'normal' diet. Still, all in all,
it is one of the worst ways to lose weight I've run across. Even
excercising (ptui!) is way better. LOL.

And a good, high protein level will help speed healing and cellular
repair.
