Went to my local source and found a sign saying the MANUFACTURER was
temp out of stock?!?!?!? What gives? Anyone else having trouble
getting LC tortilla's? Are the Food giants buying all of them up so we
can't get them?

They are no longer taking orders thru their web site either.

The local low carb store tells me that la tortilla factory has
informed them that due to their supply not meeting the demand for
their product, that we will be waiting approximately 5 WEEKS before
they will be shipping.
I don't know about food giants buying them up, around here none of
the supermarkets have them and the low carb store is the only local
source that I know of.

Safeway carries them.

I bought some at Marsh, here in Indiana, yesterday and I was ecstatic that
they had them. Could be they're having growing pains - but they are soooo
delicious!

I'd count that as a vote of "yum" from a large number of consumers. I
just had my first one tonight and it was not bad at all. Same texture
as Mission flour tortillas. I will definitely continue buying these. I
only saw them in a low-carb store.

A friend of mine owns an Italian restaurant and went to see about her
supplier getting them for her to sell LC'd food in her store. She was told
that it'll be awhile before she can get them because Kroger's placed an
order for 30,000 packages of them. My Kroger's hasn't had any in over a
week, and said that they are expecting a shipment anytime now.

It's not unusual now to see LC items completely gone in the
supermarkets. I've noticed Diet Rite Cola is frequently all gone,
which is not surprising, since it's one of the few with sucralose.

Our stores have stopped running specials on Diet Rite. Now, it's full price
but usually in stock.

Isn't that annoying? Diet Rite used to be *cheaper* than the big-name
brands, and now the price is running neck-and-neck with all the other
name-brand sodas.

I used to pay $3.99 per six pack ... now it's down to $2.99 per six pack at
Walmart SuperStores - go Walmart!

Your response to me when I mentioned everything Atkins touches ends up
costing me money was "nobody is forcing you to buy it." I wonder if you can
now see how that response in reply to what you posted above might step on
your toes a bit. True or not. Just wondering.

Doesn't step on my toes at all -- you're right. No one's forcing me to
buy it. And because they raised their prices, I don't. Which is where
the annoying part comes in -- I liked the product, especially because
it was a good value. It's not an earth-shattering loss, just a tad
annoying.

I looked for them in King Soopers today - they were out. I was told
that they don't know when to expect them in and that the company is
trying to decide whether or not to spend millions of $$$ on equipment
and expansion in order to keep up with demand.
