Calorie counting? Complex carbohydates are a part of any healthy diet.
We have lots of healthy living and eating resources, plus freshly
milled bread mixes made with nutrition rich, ancient grains from
around the world.

Thank you for having the guts to keep repeating that.  Hopefully
someday it will stick.

You think it takes guts to make anonymous posts?

Many people here post using a handle.  Hint.  Crafting Mom is not my
legal name :)

Surely, you jest.

(Yeah, I know. Don't call me Shirley.)

Hi Crafting,

Oh I know that :) I use handles, too.  I just don't think it takes guts to
"stand strong" hiding behind anonymity.

Why not? He still gets the same flak for his opinions, and when he is
rude, regardless of whether he uses his real name or a handle.  A
real coward would change isps and screen names and not face the
music.

Nah, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.  I don't see how anyone
would "face the music" in this context... in the case of negative remarks
towards people (aka trolling), the *goal* is to elicit responses by
instigating people because you have no accountability -- the joy is just
trying to piss people off.  The more remarks and the more instigating, the
better (in their mind).  For all you know, he's 5 other people here.

Have you met Carmen yet?

Someone on my forum claimed to have gained 30 lbs in 3 months eating
800-1000 calories/day.

In the FFID universe, 800 cal can magically cause weight gain.

That could be true even if he posted under his real name.  For that matter,
how is "Brian <nospam@nospam.com>" any less anonymous than JC?  How do I
know "Brian" is your real name?  How do I distinguish you from a hundred
million other Brians, or even contact you, if I wanted to hold *you*
accountable for something?

How do I know you aren't me?  (raises eyebrow)  :-)

I'll settle it right now. I'm actually everyone on this group.  If someone
posts that they are actually not me, it's really just me messin' with ya.

I have only 3 flaws.  My first flaw is thinking that I only have 3 flaws.

Brian - 29 Feb 2004 06:01 GMT
Good point, you don't know my name is really Brian (but it is, unless I'm
delusional and only *think* my name is Brian!)

Believe me though, I'm not arguing I'm less anonymous than anyone else.  I
just think people's true colors _generally_ (though not always) come out
because they aren't accountable -- not in the same way as you would be in
real life, anyway...

OK, back to low-carbing... as JC would say, "This discussion is not low
carb."

Bread is not composed of complex carbohydrates.  Starch is tha largest
component of bread and simple enough to be dissolved into glucose by
saliva.

Most breads offer next to no nutrition.

Those that care about what they eat should replace the junk starch
foods like bread with non-starchy vegetables.   I haven't eaten any
bread in 6 months and I don't miss it.
