Hubby brought home a bag of these and they're pretty good toasted.  I
made a big batch of egg salad yesterday and tried it on 1/2 of a bagel and it
was  good.  Not for induction, but on maintenance I can afford 1/2 of one per
day.

How many carbs are there per bagel?
JC Der Koenig - 28 Feb 2004 22:54 GMT
Bagels are not low carb.

Someone on my forum claimed to have gained 30 lbs in 3 months eating
800-1000 calories/day.

In the FFID universe, 800 cal can magically cause weight gain.

Bagels are not low carb.>>>

I didn't ask if they are low carb, I asked how many carbs there are.

8 carbs for a bagel and 4 net carbs for 1/2.

I've already got JC on my block sender list ... but if there was a preferred
sender list ... you would be on it! ...

Look at the label again.  Do the math as well.

Take care,

Give it a break, dude.  I am 5" 7 1/2 and weigh 128 lbs.  I got on low
carb to get sugar out of my diet as I was getting older.
I run 3 miles a day and work out with weights.  Not all of us are "addicted"
--- we've just chosen to minimize the carbs in our diets --- but for those of
us who are active we still need carbs.  Get off your throne.

Bagels are still not low carb. Even if you weighed 92 pounds soaking wet.

4 net carbs for half a bagel is "low carb" if figured into your daily
carb intake.
What is wrong with you?  We all do low carb differently and use  what works
best for us. There is no "magic formula" and especially for those on
maintenance these products are appreciated.  I use them moderately and you
don't have to buy them. Go home.
JC Der Koenig - 28 Feb 2004 23:35 GMT
It's very simple. Even you should be able to understand. Breads and other
starchy foods are not low carb. No matter how much you want them to be.
Frankenfoods notwithstanding.

Well, since your obviously such an Adonis who knows so much better than
us
(especially me who's been low carb since 1999) why not post some of your
swimsuit pics?  And, since your so totally anti-carb, you'd better stay away
from veggies, cheese, and nuts, among other things, since they have carbs as
well.  Do your own thing and get off your throne.

Wow. 1999. You should be in good shape by now. You show your pics first. I
still need to lose 10 pounds to show the whole six pack.

Listen, idiot.  I've always been in good shape and switched to low carb
to keep the weight away when I reached my 30's.  You have such a "holier than
thou" attitude but have produced nothing to show for it other than to berate
people trying to post helpful ideas for others.   You post your pics, and I'll
post mine.  Put your money where your mouth is.

*plonk* you are on ignore.  You have nothing of value to say to others but
displaced criticism.  I will be posting my pics here soon, but not for you, but
for others for encouragement.  Go away.
