Has anyone tried the Atkins gum? It is sweetened with xylitol, 0 net
carbs.

Haven't looked but I would expect a standard sugar-free gum to be a
better product and cost much less than anything slapped with a
low-carb/Atkins label. (typically LC is twice the cost of non-LC)

The net carbs game is a scam.

Someone on my forum claimed to have gained 30 lbs in 3 months eating
800-1000 calories/day.

In the FFID universe, 800 cal can magically cause weight gain.

Deducting indigestible fiber from Total Carbs makes sense to me.  However,
deducting Sugar Alcohols seems questionable.

Oddly, Sugar Alcohols cause me such a massive session of hours long
diarrhea, there must be a negative caloric value.  Stopping digestion of
everything else may save 1000+ calories.   Some anorexics use laxatives to
achieve this effect.  This only happened once to me, but once was enough.

What is "FFID?"

Have you tried the Atkins? The only gums I found with a quick search
using zylitol were Trident and Carefree Koolerz. I thought there used
to be more. I do know that some dentists recomment chewing gum with
zylitol in it.

I'm just looking for something to use as an occasional chew. Quitting
smoking, ya know. The nicotine gum has glycerine and sorbitol in it,
but no nutrional info because it's a med, I guess.

I've learned the hard way that anything that says "Atkins" on the label is
going to taste like crap and cost twice as much as another product with a
very similar ingredient list.

The company is run by people with seriously defective tastebuds.
