I have a quick question.

You are allowed 2-3 cups of SALAD VEGGIES per day on induction.  As long as
I measure with a measuring cup and know that I'm not eating more then 2-3
cups per day of these veggies, is it really necessary that I attempt to
count the carbs with veggies?  It's almost impossible to do.

I mean if I'm having a bit of cucumber, green pepper, lettuce, radishes and
celery how am I suppose to know how much carbs are in 1/4 of a green pepper?
That is too much math for me and it's confusing as hell.

So anyways, as long as I keep my salad veggies at 2-3 cups per day, I am A
OK?  NOTE:  I'm not eating any of the 'other veggies' on the acceptable
foods list.

Thanks.

Yeah I know what a scale is.  The book says nothing about weighing veggies.
That is why I typed a "?" mark to the comment.

there are lots of aspects to the diet that aren't in the book.

I usually weigh foods rather than measure their volume, but in
general, I don't think "too much veggies" is much of a problem on
Induction.  I mean, it takes 6 lbs of lettuce to hit the 20g mark!

I'd say measure however you can and don't worry about it.

I measured or weighed everything and put it into fitday.com. Some
things may surprise you by their carb counts. It's easy to go over
when you are only getting 20 carbs a day.

It is also important when you start adding things to your diet after
induction. Might as well get used to it now and develop a habit of
counting the carbs. After a bit you'll know what everything is.

You are doing it just right.  Keep it up, but avoid eating things
like a cup of carrots to go with your 2 cups of spinach/lettuce.

There are plenty of sites on the internet to help if you have
questions.

I dunno if I'm going to hang here much longer.  I come here for support and
get bashed by some dumb chick who likes to play mind games with people.  Not
any of you all from this thread but from my recent post about feeling dizzy.
I just think there are a lot of rude, a.sholes on usenet who have nothing
better to do then play games with others, it's really quite sad.

Thanks for your advice though.  I just wanted to make sure I was doing
everything correctly.

Most of us probably aren't in danger of eating too little. :)

Not sure what program you're using, but you probably have the ability to
filter or killfile posters.  I highly recommend you use this function. It's
not about hating someone, or anything like that, it's just that you should
view this group as a customizable tool for your enjoyment, education,
entertainment, whatever, and you can tailor it however you wish by
judicious use of filters.

I have only 3 flaws.  My first flaw is thinking that I only have 3 flaws.

Sseaott, your language and phrasing is nearly identical to Preesi's.  Is
this just a coincidence?  I notice that you use comast ...

Sseaott. I'm sorry you feel that way but you are treating Dr. Atkins'
book as if it is the Bible or Holy Grail. It's far from it. There is
some things you won't find in there, things that can only be conveyed to
you thru someone that has experienced the pitfalls and/or shortcuts
first hand. A lot of nice people want to share that knowledge with you,
(albeit some with a rough wake up call) but they do mean well for the
most part.
I know you are fearful of making a mistake, and that is very
understandable, but relax a little, it will make the journey that much
easier. But rest assured, you are going to make those mistakes, we all
do, we are after all, only human. One of the worst thing you can do is
let them stress you out because that will only make the trip that much
more difficult.
Good Luck; Marty
