I am still struggling with exercise. Even just walking. I tryed 15
minutes a day, three days a week, on a exercise bike. I do not know my
limit I guess. I have Fibromyalgia, and I know exercise is supposed to
help. The payoff afterwards, the pain, its excruciating. The pain
don't happen that day, it can happen a couple days later. No words
explain the pain I go through for just a little exercise. My left knee
hurts again. My whole body feels like someone hammered it. I am again
about to throw the towel in on exercise. Just deal with it, admit that
I just can no longer do it. Some people can, some people just cannot.
Maybe later down the road. I was really hopeing to exercise to get in
better shape, to lose weight a little faster also.

I, too, have fibromyalgia. The only exercise I am able to do is swim. Find a
heated pool (call the arthritis foundation in your area) and start slowly. It
will help.

I feel for you Sunshyne. There's nothing worse than pain like you've
described. You don't *have* to excercise, do you? Anyway, be good to
yourself and take care. Hope you find some relief.

I'm so sorry that it's not working out (no pun intended) for you! I KNOW how
difficult that can be, and how DISAPPOINTING and FRUSTRATING not being able to do
something is. Just stay on-plan and take care of yourself the best you can.

Sounds like you really have been trying. That's about all you can do.
You don't need to exercise to lose weight.
Good luck.

Thanks for the support. It is frustrating in many ways not to be able
to do things you really really want to do. Just going to brush myself
off, try another way. I refuse to give in. Could be denial, could be
the fighter in me. Could be the wrong way of going about it all. I
will never accept it all.
Swimming in a heated pool is a good idea. Checking back into it. The
arthritis society does help alot, they loaned me a cane. Got a light
aroebics class starting at my church this week also, directed by a
physical trainer. So trying that also. I'me sure if I explain what is
going on, she will be of help.

Is there any surprise that a fat hypochondriac would have adverse feelings
toward exercise?

Ahh, second shot at me? Try again. Same response as the first shot. You missed.

And yet you still felt a need to respond.

And you didn't? You can have the pleasure of the last word. You're welcome.

That is so tough. Is it possible to find a gym with a pool? Maybe some
really low impact exercise would help? How about a stationary bike going
nice and slow with no resistance, just to get some blood flowing? What does
your doctor say to do? I just can't see not doing any exercise at all.
There has to be something that would be ok and make you feel better after
you get used to it.

I'm sorry that you are having problems with pain while exercising, but
perhaps there are still some alternatives worth trying.
Here are some good articles, hope this helps!
