I'm on the induction of Atkins and find the only thing I miss is a coffee a
couple of times a day.

What effect will two cups a day of decaf coffee with Splenda and cream
have? Is this a negative?

I too tried to give up coffee and just couldn't do it.  I have 1 16oz.
coffee a day with 2 creme's.   This has been working for considering I went
from 4 a day to 1 a day.  Everyone is different what works for me may not
work for you.  Its just about trial and error.  Good luck to you!

Probably no effect.  Lots of people find they can even drink regular coffee
with no problem.

Speaking for myself: I drink 5 cups / 2 large mugs of half caf every
morning and more later. For me this has not been a problem. Other than
the coffee I have followed the Atkins scheme fairly closely. Since
October 15th, 2003 I have progressed from 235 to my current 198 and
counting. The goal is to get down to 185 and hold between 180 and 190.
Huge quantities of regular coffee do raise my appetite.

I asked about caffeine when I first came to this group and the concensus was
that coffee doesn't make much difference. I followed that and drink 2
sometimes 3 cups a day with cream and splenda. My weight loss has been great
so far.
De-caf has no restrictions anyway.

They will have to remove my coffee cup from my cold, dead hands.  (It's the
only vice I have left.)

The only aspect of coffee that I can see have an effect is the way the
caffine artifically provides a boost of adrenaline. In some people this
could hinder weight loss, but not in everyone.

I am not a regular coffee drinker, but do indulge in expresso. It is
somewhat strange to drink decaf expresso, but I guess that is the price to
pay for wanting to get in better shape.

I drink 2 to 4 cups of coffee a day (w/ Splenda and heavy cream) and it
hasn't hindered my weight loss at all. It takes me a n hour to wake up with
coffee...I couldn't imagine what it would take without coffee.

I have decaf every day (1-3 cups).  I'm not on induction, so I use half & half to
save calories.  It doesn't seem to affect my weight loss.  The funny thing is
that I only drank unsweetened tea except for a rare cup of coffee up until not
too long before starting Atkins last June.  I started drinking coffee for a
little while, needing a caffeine pick-me-up, but weaned myself back off using a
caf/decaf and ended up liking it enough to continue with the decaf.
