Can someone recommend a good faux maple syrup, and mention where it can
be procured?

Thanks,

Sammy

We just "discovered" Cozy Cottage Syrup by Maple Grove Farms.  It uses
sorbitol (3g/serving) and sucralose for sweetener, and is the same
thickness and taste as regular syrup.  We found it at one of our local
supermarkets, but you can order it online too.

Log Cabin makes splenda sweetened syrup available at any grocery store..
they even put it out in larger bottles now too. It's good.

Is it thick like real syrup, or watery like Atkins syrup?

Oh, Cozy Cottage syrup comes in "normal" sized bottles too.

I never used *real* syrup much even before going low carb.. and have only
tasted the splenda Log Cabin.. my kids eat it though.. on low carb waffles
of course.. they complained about one brand being watery that I bought but
seem to like Log Cabin just fine. I guess it would be one of those things to
just get some and check it out. It's not like alot of the ultra expensive
low carb foods so one of the small bottles shouldn't break a budget,
although if you don't like it, it would be wasted..

I've never tasted the Atkins.  The DaVinci tastes pretty good,
but it is thin.  I warm some in a cup with a sprinkling of xanthan
or guar gum to thicken it up.

The Log Cabin, Vermont and Maple Grove Farms Cozy Cottage are thick like
real syrup, but they all have 4g carb per 1/4 cup, while the DaVinci
has none.

Another easy and tasty option is maple butter:
One stick butter (1/4 pound), softened.
4 packets sweetener  (8 tsp bulk Splenda)
  1/4 tsp maple flavor extract
Blend well and store refrigerated.
