Arrowroot?

Is it safe to assume that arrowroot is as bad for thickening a sauce, in
the carby sense, as flour or cornstarch?  What do you all use, other
than butter, as sauce thickeners?

I have not seen this product either.  Where should I look for it?

Gosh I hope it's not to chewy.  :)  Can you tell me where this is
