Hi,

A question from a newbie in the UK -- I love the frozen coffees from
Starbucks and am hoping that as they are made from cream, ice cubes and
coffee only that the carb count won't be high......I have drank them whilst
lo-carbing and they don't give me a carb high or cravings but would like to
know the actual carb content....I have checked the Starbucks site but no
info there.......TIA

I entered "starbucks nutrition" into google and got some results - here's
one http://www.dietfacts.com/search.asp?searchKey=starbucks .
I don't know if the product names or sizes are the same as in the UK, but it
should give you a place to start.

Again with the assumption that these things are the same in the UK as in the
US, I think you have forgotten a key ingredient in the coffee frappaccino -
you haven't noticed that they taste cloyingly sweet?  They have some kind of
sugary syrup added to them.  Here's nutrition data:
http://www.dietfacts.com/item.asp?itemid=14930

You can ask them at the store what ingredients go into it, and maybe ask
them to leave out an ingredient you don't want.

I have no idea if the stores in the US make them the same way as in the UK
but here's the nutrition counts for the US.

You might be able to ask for more specific info at your local Starbucks.

I checked out a bunch of their coffees and they are extremely high in
carbs. Most are 30-60 carbs in a small(Tall) drink. Only the basic
cafe americana(black,2g) or cafe latte(with milk,13g) are lower carbs.

I'm going to try using Hood's Chocolate Carb Countdown with strong coffee and
ice cubes.  I have a smoothie maker, so I'll run it through that.  Will let you
know of the outcome!

lists an espresso frappucino as having 46g of carbs.  they're full of
sugar.  not recommended.

They have a *LOAD* of sugar!!! I can't drink them at all without
getting a splitting headache!

You can make your own that are just as good if not better:

You need a blender.

Strong coffee or espresso; can also use instant. Cream. Splenda. Some
unsweetened Hershey's powder if you like mochas.
Ice cubes. It's better YET if you make ice cubes made of coffee.

I find it tastes just like Frappucinos.
