When is my body weight enough?

I am working abs now.  Started at 232 pounds and at 159.5 as of this
message.  My scale with body fat monitor says I am at 16.5%.  Not sure
if I can believe that.  I am 6ft with a medium build I would say.  I
have been lifting, but I am just getting tone so far.  I also heard
from GMC that Atkins prevents me from bulking up in mass?  Not sure
what to think about that.  What I really need to do right now is work
on abs right now since my stomach looks horrible.  Like a deflated
balloon.  I am using firming lotion with copper so far that seems to
firm up so far.
*
My main question is should I try to keep losing weight or try to
maintain and try and shrink my skin around my stomach?
*
So far I am working abs by crunching and using 5lbs leg weights to
make sure my abs feel it.  Also using that rolling pin thing.  I saw
the AB lounge which looks promising at 180$ w/o shipping.  Anybody
have any luck with that?

Thanks in advance.

Find a picture of Iggy Pop, study hard, and keep losing.

Most of us probably aren't in danger of eating too little. :)

Hi,

I think that requires large quantities of illegal substances.  ;-)

Take care,

Iggy pop is/was way too skinny. I think his diet secret was cocaine
and heroin though if you want to follow that route.

I'm sure he feels that you're way too fat.

It's not impossible, but it's more difficult than with a moderate carb
diet, as insulin is anabolic.

In general, if you want to see your abs, you need to keep losing fat
until they're no longer hidden.  Subcutaneous fat is the key factor
there, sorry.

I did not know that General Motors Company gives diet advice.

In case if it was advice from GNC, ignore it completely.

Try to maintain, exercise etc, maybe the skin will shrink.

at 159 lbs and 6 ft, you are at reasonable weight, although you may
decide to go lower or higher. I would say that getting stronger and
faster is now no less important than getting leaner.

I have nothing to say on the skin issue.

I do weighted situps with 2 35 lbs dumbbells held at shoulders.

You do not need anything beyond a carpet and weights, IMHO.

Who knows, you might get better advice. I certainly couldn't be any
worse.

How's *that* for a Freudian slip! LOL.

I meant, of course:
It (the advice) certainly couldn't be any worse.

Oh well...never mind.

Wasn't it a GNC employee who told a customer (that) if you boiled
potatoes, all the carbs would be gone?

Yes, I remember that. It looks like they hire persuasive people and
give them zero training, leaving sales to their charms.

I got good advice from a GNC employee once.  When I first started low-carb
and didn't know any better, I went in there looking at the low-carb bars,
and I asked which one tasted the best, and she said they all suck.

I have only 3 flaws.  My first flaw is thinking that I only have 3 flaws.

I hired an ex-GNC employee once. The only person that was a bigger idiot than
he was was myself. For hiring him. How he lasted three years there is beyond
me. He interviewed well, but could barely walk and chew gum after that.

I agree, with the possible exception of some means for doing some hard
and/or long cardio activity.

Bascially, unless that is completely skin over your abs, you're going to
have to continue to lose bodyfat.

Ok so I will keep going then, lost another 2 lbs over the weekend.  I
am now at 158 lbs, thought I was hung up for awhile there.  Thank God
for Low Carb ice cream, found some mint chip yesterday that is great
from carb solutions, got it at Jewel.  Found some bagels there now
too.  Its great to see the local stores coming around so I don't have
to mail order.  Anybody have any advice for lotions to use for skin
shrinkage?  I am using a firming lotion with copper so far that seems
to work.

I am new to this. I hadn't heard of this product before. Does it work? What
is a good brand/price?

Thanks

*Goes to bathroom to get lotion*

Ok, its Neutrogena Visibly Firm body lotion with active copper.  Goto
their website and you can catch their selling point.  It was cheap
enough under 10$ at walgreens.  Feels tighter so far, but I am going
to use the whole bottle before I judge it any further so I don't waste
any more money than I have to.
