First things first, are you eating any low-carb junk food with sugar
alcohols in it? (malitol, sorbitol, anything-ol)

I have only 3 flaws.  My first flaw is thinking that I only have 3 flaws.

Limit or avoid Frankenfood lowcarb products full of sugar alcohols.

Eating fresh meats/poultry/fish, lowcarb veggies, cheeses, nuts,
appropriate oils and small amounts of fruit usually results in a nearly
gas-free existence.

Cut out the sugar alcohols.  Just 2 or 3 grams of Lacitol can lead to an
intense gas attack for me.  Unfortunately, they are in most of the "low
carb" products.

If you eat low carb using just real food and make your own treats using the
many low carb recipes online you will have no gas at all.

In fact, one of the benefits of low carbing in the past was the
disappearance of the gas and heartburn that many people get from eating
wheat.

If you're having sugar alcohols then there's your problem. You may have
also introduced something your body doesn't like. Hard to say since you
haven't posted a menu.

Watch your response to sugar alcohols and see if you can figure out if
there are particular foods that are causing problems, as others have
mentioned.  Also, keep yourself hydrated (plenty of fluids).

Also, you might want to think about getting some sugar-free Citrucel
and taking it a couple times a day.  Citrucel is different from other
fiber supplements like Metamucil in that it contains a water soluble
fiber called methylcellulose rather than asbrasive psyllium powder.

Unlike other forms of fiber which can cause stomach and intestinal
irritation and gas, Citrucel will not cause gas.  Citrucel is similar
to a soft gelatin.  It is non-irritating and forms a soft blob in the
intestines which can help to push gas along to prevent bloating,
assuming it is taken at least twice daily.  It is also slightly
sticky, and helps to pull toxins and material from the lining of the
intestines (helps to clean out intestines).

Regarding the passing of gas (flatulence) itself, the only way to
really get rid of bloating is to get the gas to pass through.  Of
course there are over the counter gas relief aids found in antacids
and also in the medication "Phazyme".  These actually work by helping
you to pass gas by increasing surface tension on small bubbles of gas
to create large bubbles which are more likely to pass through.

If you want a long term solution to bloating, getting hard upper and
lower abs is the best treatment (e.g. crunches and leg raises).  Once
the abdominal muscles are strengthened, gas is more likely to pass
through rather than remain stationary, as the stiff abdominal muscles
will resist the bloating leaving the gas nowhere else to go but out.

The one excellent benefit of LC is No More Gas. You must be eating
things that cause gas. Broccolli? Cabbage? Brussel Sprouts? Too many
LC chocolate bars??? Too many LC tortillas??? Too many Atkins muffins
and rolls??? Wheat and sugar alcohols will get you sometimes. As a
matter of fact some people cant eat LC candy as it gives them gas and

That's true for me too Laureen. No more problems in that area. I used to
have a problem with loose stool as well but that's gone away as well. Thank
goodness.

Some veggies like mentioned give me gas still. Its definitly not like
it used to be. I used to really love Mexican food. Not anymore. I do
like taco salad still, minus the tortillias. It used to give me such
heartburn. Thats gone away too.
