It wouldn't be a "low carb" diet then, would it.
It would be a "no carb" diet.

Low carb implies some carbs.

Don't be so judgmental. Cousin might have tried it and fainted after seeing
a mouse or the last episode of "Sex and the City".

Just because dogs are regularly seen to be pursuing cats doesn't mean that
cats are the cause of dogs. Similarly the high correlation between sales of
blankets in Manchester England and average daily temperatures in Casper
Wyoming doesn't meant that Mancusians are buying blankets because Casperians
are feeling cold.

Not necessarily.  If I eat nothing but meat and cheese for a few days, I
feel a bit dizzy.  I could see fainting from it if I stood up too fast.

I have only 3 flaws.  My first flaw is thinking that I only have 3 flaws.

Usually, it is a shortage of calories that leads to dizziness.

Could this be the case?

Combined with drinking too little water (note, I am not of the
"drink your 8+ glasses a day" club).

Try it!  According to a clinical study done at ( NC State? can't
remember...) there were no ill effects during a six month study where they
did blood testing every week.  Supposedly even improved good/bad cholesterol
ratios.

Just how do you get 0 carbs, 0 grams? Drinking water only?

Meat (except organ meat) and water only.

Single malt scotch is awesome (NO it does NOT have carbs as DON'T vodka,
gin, rum, bourbon, etc generally)
Malt can be made low carb through the judicious use of yeast.
Low carb beer? Uh...yeah.
Read the books.
You can have more than eggs for breakfast.
Yes calories do count.
Ketosticks are not neccessary to lose weight.

Email: Actually my feet are big not medium.

Silly me. Of course I should have figured out that's what you meant. ?

There are some Eskimos and Inuits who still live the traditional
hunting lifestyle on the ice.  They can go months or years eating
very close to true zero carbs.

They are not in ketosis and they do not lose weight.  Is that
what you had in mind?  The body defends against extremes like
that.  Remember the single most important concept in the entire
Atkins plan, CCLL, that everyone has their own ideal level for
loss and it isn't zero.

Seafarers used to get beri-beri and rickets from eating only beef jerky for
months on end.  Not to mention, I bet they were really, really skinny!

Thanks for all the feed back. i was concerned just because my count is
coming in at like 10 G . I wouldnt want anyoneto consume  o grams of carb,
it was hypothetical, I have read Atkins inside out and saw no mention of O
grams. My only comment regarding Atkins is do the induction and do an honest
45 -50 min cardio. 4-5 times a week, get you body fat % measured before you
start and after to see the results..

Exactly how are you counting?  There are several newbie errors that
could account for this.

Are you deducting fiber but also using the cup counts from the book?
The cup counts predate fiber deduction.  One cup form the low carb
veggie list is 5 grams *minus fiber*.  One cup from the ultra low
carb veeggie list aka the salad list is 2.5 grams *minus fiber*.  So
if you eat a cup of broccoli and two cups of lettuce+cuke+etc, then
you are getting your basic veggie-half of 10 *minus fiber*.  Since
fiber deduction was added after the edition of the book, the cup
guideline became obsolete.  Eat more veggies.

Are you counting all dairy and eggs for their carbs?  Eggs are 0.6
each, cream at 6 per cup is 0.4 per tablespoon, cheeses run 1 per
ounce, etc.  It is extremely standard to get 5 from these sources
so if you aren't counting them that brings you down to 15 right
there when you're actually at the proper quota of 20.

Are you counting everything?  In specific, there are labels that
claim zero that are actually rounded down from 0.5 and next to
nothing is really truely zero.  A cup of decafe coffee is really
0.4 and so on.  If you carefully count each and every instance of
something going in the mouth that folks think of as zero, it
generally comes out to enough halves-rounded-down to total 5 for
the day.  So if you aren't counting them that brings you down to 10,
just like you claimed, but you are actually at the quota of 20.

In review: Quota is 20, mandatory at least half from veggies.

Enough veggies to total 10 after fiber deduction.  Two cups of
low carb veggies plus plenty of salad.  Subtotal 10.

The limit of 4 ounces of dairy, perhaps 3 oz cheese and 2 tbls of
cream.  Two eggs.  Count is 5.  Subtotal 15.

Coffee and so on that has labels claiming zero that is actually
rounded down from near 0.5.  Count is 5.  Subtotal 20.  Bingo.

I heard that was because they didn't eat organ meat.
That might even be true. Honest.
