I have been on the Atkins for the last six months, and i have only lost
24lbs (very frustrating!!) does anyone have any suggestions on how to speed
things up?

24 pounds is great.  I lost about 35 pounds all of last year, and I built
up to riding my racing bike over 100 miles a week.  So, you're on a much
faster rate than I.  Be happy.

How much (total) weight do you want to lose?  A friend of mine started South
Beach, did the 2-week induction, and was very disappointed to find that she
hadn't lost any weight.  If you don't have much to lose, it will take longer
to lose it.

Do you exercise?  That can speed things up.  I've just begun a new walking
program with the people in my school, and I know that it will help me get
off of this plateau I've been on for the last couple of weeks.

To keep it off the ideal loss rate is 1 per week, 4-5 per month.  You have
lost at exactly the ideal rate.  Please explain to me how it is a problem
to have ideal results.

Enough denial already.  Enjoy your success.  Six more months, 24 more lbs.

NOTHING WRONG with your results!!!!!!!!!!!

DOn't U enjoy the smaller clothes size and all the compliments?

Patience and persistence....   at least you are NOT putting lbs on, as I
know I was doing before at a rate of 5 lbs every year!

At 6 months I, too, had only lost 24 lbs.  It IS frustrating, but some of us
simply lose at a slower rate than others.  Factors that might affect it are a)
activity level (I don't get much exercise when I'm not ACTIVELY "exercising"), b)
hormones, and c) calorie level.  I find that I lose at a SLIGHTLY higher rate if
I keep my calories between 1200-1500 (which I started doing in January), but even
then I only lose about 3-5 lbs a month, as opposed to 2-4 lbs).  At not quite 9
months in, I'm now down 37.5 lbs, with ~43 more to go.

Try eating less and doing some sort of exercise.

Most of us probably aren't in danger of eating too little. :)
