Yesterday had another thrill. A board member likes to take me to lunch at
his favorite french retaurant on Union Square every now and then. I've told
him I'm not yet ready for that restaurant. It's way to full of temptations.
Monday he came in and was commenting on how much weight I've lost. * Now
don't go too far. You look good.*  I think he just wants his lunch buddy
back.

Hi Bear,

Did you have to change what you were doing, or did the stall break without
your needing to?

Hey Alan,

I started adding in a few carbs. Went on to OWL as suggested.

Good job, Bear-

I did the same thing.  Stalled at 269# for about three weeks.  I had
been doing a very strict Induction and thought I'd carry it out a
little longer.  More (or less) is better, right?

After reading a few posts about the medical reasons for the "three
week plateau", I started adding in about 10-15 grams of carbs a day (
I was at about 2-3) and the stall ended!  I've started using
Fitday.com, which is a little addictive, but lots of fun.

Glad to hear your news.

I know how you feel about its too risky to go certain places to eat.
Good for you. I am very happy with you reaching the 30 mark! Way to
go!

:)

Congratulations on the 30 mark!!!  That is great!

Hmmm, I see that a board member mentioned that you look good at this weight.
In my experience, this is the beginning of a bunch of people that will start
saying that.  Maybe not, but I just wanted to mention that people may start
saying you lost enough and so on.  I can see by your goal that you want to
lose 57 more pounds.  It is safe to say you have not lost enough.  What I am
getting at is sometimes people don't want you to be thin or thinner.  It
isn't necessarily their fault, but they may look at themselves an feel they
are not doing enough to lose their weight, or they don't want you to look
too good or whatever.  I am not saying that this is the case with your lunch
buddy, he may just be lonely as you say, but just want you to be aware that
it seems people start to turn on people that are losing weight.  I am sure
you will keep going all the way to goal, no matter what people say.  You
went out and had that great dinner a while back and you got right back on
track.  Now at the 30 pound mark.  Excellent.

I guess I just want to see you go all the way as many here have done!

Enjoy,
Curt

Thanks Curt. Nothing is going to get in the way, unless I do it myself. One
thing I learned by having that dinner, was something someone said to me. I
wish I could remember who it was. "You decide what you're going to eat, not
someone else." Common sense I needed to hear. Same thing in this case. If I
decide it's enough it will be my decision.
Thanks for the support. You're a great guy.

Bear,

Here is the advice I gave you before that dinner:

"Whatever you do tonight make it your choice, not the choice
of another."

Congratulations on your continued progress.

JJ, that is good advice. I keep in mind, that I have the control of
what I put in my mouth. I have control on what I want my life to be
like, and become. Its a great feeling to have control over things like
this.
