There are so many ways you can buy chicken, but I always assumed raw chicken
was just chicken. Now you can buy the "tender and tasty" whole birds I know
Tyson and Perdue both have them. That's fine if you just want to pop it into
the oven and roast it. If you like to season like we do- look out!!!

These birds are salty. I personally think it should be in bold print for
those that are sensitive to salt. It caused a dinner fight one night when my
hubby cooked and spiced up the bird before cooking, I accused him of over
doing the salt, and I was really hungry- the bird was almost uneatable.
After 2 more salty birds ( the worst one was when he cut it up and marinade
overnight)- I checked out the package and noticed the extra already seasoned
ingredients....and broth  which means your paying more for water. So watch
your labels and be aware of the ingredients.

I buy my whole chickens at Aldis for 59 cents a pound. They are
unseasoned and you put your own seasoning on them.

I find chicken with no additives then brine it.  It's much more moist and
tasty brined (and you don't have to use a ton of salt).

Me too. I had never heard of Aldi until I moved to PA. I also buy frozen
shrimp here for a lot less than at the regular grocery stores.
