Hi everyone!  Been kinda busy here but wanted to check in and let y'all know
I'm still around.  Been really busy with wedding plans and running around
Raleigh trying to find the perfect dress for my future daughter in law.  I'm
sure it will all come together, but it sure is stressful.

Anyway, I finally made my goal of getting below 210!  This morning the
scales said 209.5 and I danced around the bedroom naked!  I'm thrilled.
Another milestone, 60 pounds GONE!  When I finished doing the happy dance I
stood at the mirror.  For the first time in years I wasn't disgusted with
what I saw.  Of course I tucked in my tummy, held my breath and well, not
half bad!  LOL  My butt is no longer square shaped and as big as a house.
It actually has a nice gentle curve now.  I've been lifting handweights and
can actually see muscle forming.  My face is thinner and well, finally I see
some pay off for sticking with this WOE!

My future daughter in law has been obsessing over her weight.  We went
shopping the other day and when she came back into the house she went in to
test the ol' scales.  She asked me to get on the scales after she got off.
Now mind you a year ago I never would have let anyone see those numbers.
But I jumped on and I weighed 5 pounds less than her!  If that doesn't give
her incentive I don't know what will.  I keep telling her it's so much
harder to lose the weight as you get older.  She turns 21 on the 27th of
this month.  I'm 42, so if I can do it she surely can.  She just needs to
get into the right mindset.  Of course she is still young and believes that
there is a miracle pill out there somewhere that will melt away the pounds.
I keep telling her that I'll support her efforts in low carb eating, just
give it a try.  But she hasn't come around yet.

Just had to pass on my good news.  I still have a long way to go but these
little milestones really keep me motivated.  A friend is giving me a
treadmill and hubby is going to get it this weekend.  I'm praying for summer
so we can open the pool up again.  Since the wedding is going to be at our
home I'll get quite a bit of exercise landscaping the yard, cleaning and
painting the house, etc.  I also spend an hour a day dancing to my favorite
tunes while working with my hand weights.  Amazing considering that when I
started my little dance workouts that after ten minutes my legs hurt, I was
out of breath and felt like I could die at any moment!  LOL

I am just starting to see them diffrences, the real me emerging from
under that fat. You are inspiring! It helps to read others posts on
things like this. It helps to keep going at it, and stay strong.

I did some measurements yesterday. I lost 6 inches in the waist, 2 in
the hips, 2 more in the thighs, and a couple here and there. Totally
all together so far, 10 and a half inches. I am amazed and happy.
Happy for you too!

Some of the ways you are doing some exercise, helped alot too. The
dance and lifting small handweights is a great idea!

That visual just wasn't necessary.

Most of us probably aren't in danger of eating too little. :)

But you see the visual IS necessary.  The point is that I'm no longer
ashamed of my fat.  Yes, I'm still fat, but compared to what I was ten
months ago, honey, I'm a friggin' sexy woman!  And why can't a woman be sexy
at 209 pounds?  My hubby has absolutely no problem with my weight loss.  My
sex life has been GRRRRREAT since I've lost weight.  I feel sexy for the
first time in my life.  I no longer look for clothing that covers as much as
possible.  I find myself looking at items that show off my new found curves.
So, in conclusion, if the thought of someone who weighs 209 pounds dancing
around naked celebrating her new found body upsets you.  Then it's your
problem not mine.  :o)

Thanks to everyone who responded to my post with their congrats.  It's that
support that keeps me motivated.

215 pounds of jiggling flesh is not sexy, it's disgusting. 140 would be more
like it.

Ya, 140 pounds of jiggling flesh would be less disgusting.  Ugh.  Kill file
my posts please, I don't need your kind of support.  And pay attention it
wasn't 215 pounds of jiggling flesh it was 209.  In your miserable little
world that would make a huge difference.  Oh, by the way, I'm not ashamed of
my stats, I'm damn proud of them.  Must not be true of you, since you don't
ever post them.  You know what they say, "what goes around, comes around."
I only hope one day all the weight I lose ends up on YOU!

But you keep telling people to look at themselves in the mirror, naked, for
inspiration.  She was just doing what you recommended!!

That's right. It's a good thing to look in the mirror for inspiration. But
don't tell me you were actually dancing and carrying on in front of the
mirror unless you are slim and trim. I've never seen a female that looked
good at 215.

Admit it, Suet-brains, the last female you got to look at had a staple
through her navel...

Good work, Kelly!

And isn't it great to live in a place like Raleigh, NC where we can go
outside in February!  not to mention March, which is spring (don't mind me,
I spent waaaay to many years in the snow belt, and moved to NC from VT).

As for the DIL, you sound like a wonderfully supportive MIL yourself.  I
think she may see the light, especially if you show her how yummy
low-carbing can be  --  think 'cue without the hush puppies (easy for me to
say, can't stand hush puppies).

Thanks Anne!  We moved here 19 years ago from PA and love it.  I can't
imagine living anywhere else.  We actually live in Wake Forest and with the
way things are growing around here we shouldn't have to venture much to
Raleigh.  A new Walmart, Golden Corral, PetSmart going in.  All I need is a
AC Moore's or Michael's and I'd be all set!  LOL  I hate fighting Raleigh
traffic, but guess that goes with the territory.

Keep in touch neighbor!  And thanks for the kind words.  :o)
