DONT!!! ICK!!! I bought the raspberries and cream. It tastes like like
Pepto Bismol. It is chalky in texture, watered down tasting, and is in
everyway like true Pepto Bismol except for a few seeds and the
viscocity.I magine Pepto with some gelatin added to thicken it. I took
2 bites and wanted to gag. The texture and taste combo is all WRONG!!!
Don't waste your moola on this one.

It's not even real yogurt.  Look at the ingredients.  Look how they
wave a bit of culture over it towards the end so that they can
"honestly" say it's yogurt.

Water, ultra-filtered skim milk, cream, raspberry puree, contains less
than 1% of whey protein concentrate, modified corn starch, Kosher gelatin,
natural and artificial flavors, sucralose, potassium sorbate (to maintain
freshness), Red 40, malic acid, Blue 1, sodium citrate. Contains active
yogurt cultures.

Wow... I love them. Of course I've never been a real yogurt eater so maybe REAL
yogurt tastes better but I still imagine they're a pretty good healthful snack
coming in at 60 cals and 3 grams of carb.

Sounds like a real healthful snack.

I had no problem with the yogurt..I thought it tasted fine. Although I did find
I preferred the Raspberry over the others.. Even my husband likes it and he
never was a big yogurt fan...
As always YMMV and this is JMO

Put sweetener in any waste product, a bit of color, and call it
"low carb" and people come a-flocking LOL.  "Food companies" are
very intelligent and have a resourceful way of getting rid of their
garbage without using landfill hehe.

Actually the person who started this thread, Laureen, did not like
it at all.

Ironically, I just saw my son eating one those:(

He & his wife (who are both fairly fit & very thin) have gone on the "South
Beach diet" because his latest physical showed cholesteral issues.

goD forbid that they should eat like Mom & just cut out junk food:)Robyn

I buy the plain no sugar added full fat  Stoneybrook Farms yogurt (or
Dannon) then add vanilla extract and a couple drops of splenda....its
wonderful.  My 6 year old loves it and I have a spoonful or 2 of his.  I
don't eat it alot cause I am unsure of the carbs.  bad /good  do the
active cultures  eat up the carbs like I've read I'm not sure and don't
want to chance it. But it is more delicious then any other yogurt I've had.

Linda,

Figure the full fat plain yogurt at 5 grams per 8 oz serving and you should
be fine.

Aren't the Dannon ones about half that size?  So you actually get more carbs
and an inferior product!  Such a deal!

yep.  reading the ingredients will reveal that the first ingredient,
(the ingredients are listed in descending order most --> least) is
WATER.

I do something similar.  The only yogurt I have ever really liked was
Breyer's Key Lime flavor (I like tartness in yogurt).  So now I get the
Stonyfield Farms one (plain, full-fat, cream-on-top) and add two or three
drops of Boyajian lime oil and a couple of drops of liquid splenda syrup
base.  The flavor is just about exactly the same as they Breyer's key lime
-- however, the texture is not.  It's not custardy, like the Breyer's; it's
kinda soupy, especially after stirring in the lime flavoring.  Do you have
this same issue?

Jenny's suggestion to treat it as about 5 g carb per cup seems pretty
reasonable to me.  I had it for breakfast this morning, and my BG was 76
before eating it and 78 afterwards -- it would have been more like 95 if it
were the full 16 g of carbs listed on the label.

>But it is more delicious then any other yogurt I've had.

Not only is better tasting than the Dannon low-carb one, and has much nicer
ingredients, and is just as low-carb -- it is _so_ much cheaper!  It costs
less for a full quart of this nice stuff than for four puny little
half-cups of the Dannon.

No not when I use the Stoneyfield or Dannon, but when I bought one from
the natural food store (I forget the name) it was a bit soupy but still
tasted good.
Nice to know to count as only 5, I'll have it more often now.

I bought the dannon low carb ones for a bit there. Still do, my kids
like it and they are on the go alot, its easy to grab and pack.

I took the suggestions here on how to make your own, adding different
things to it. I use Atkins 0 carb vanilla flavoring, some cinnamin,
and fresh berries. Its really really good. The kids can't get enough
of it. They love it too.  I usually buy 2-3 containers a week of it.
The plain, no sugar added, full fat kind.  Family of 5 to feed. They
snack on it, or have it for breakfast.

I like the vanilla and the strawberry.  The only other kind I've seen here
is the peach but I don't like the taste of peaches so don't buy it.  It
makes a nice snack when you are wanting something a little sweet.  I have no
problems with it other than possibly the price.  The containers are smaller
than what yogurt comes in but these seem to be just enough for me.  I even
wrote to Dannon telling them how much I enjoyed it and they sent me three
coupons, 2 for $.50 off and one for a free pack.  Someone must like it
because the strawberry is usually sold out in Food Lion.  They always have a
huge supply of the peach on the shelves though.

I like them - the vanilla cream best - fast & easy - and I'm used to
European yougert, which is much better than the cr*p we get here in
the States.  They really aren't that bad (I do concur on the peach,
tho - wasn't that impressed)
