I joined up with them yesterday.  however when I had used their log/diary to
put in what I had eaten it had almost doubled my carbs.  I have carefully
weighed and calculated my carbs using the packets information and Atkins
ratings in the books.  Am I doing my calculations wrong ? Either way I was
still within my carb limits so I am not to worried.

Fitday doesn't subtract your fiber, at least the online version doesn't.  You
have to do it manually.

That explains a lot, thanks Yvonne, thought I was missing something there,
never occurred to me about the fibre.

Can someone explain that to me.

I saw some protein bars and the said 3 'net'  Carbs, but on the nutrition
label is listed 22. I'm not on Atkins so I've never heard the Net Carb logic
before.

Thanks

Brian, search the Google archives of this newsgroup for "sugar alcohols" and
you will learn the answer to your question and a whole lot more than perhaps
you even want to know.  :-)

Net carbs = listed total carbs - listed fiber.

The "low carb" bars also subtract sugar alcohols, but our experience
here is that you shouldn't subtract them until much later in your
weight loss journey, after you've had time to test them one at a time
to see which affect you and which don't.
