I had always taken for granted that carrots were a no-no on low-carb diets,
but I just looked on FitDay and a large carrot has just over 5g of carbs
after subtracting fiber. That seems pretty low-carb to me. A bit high for
induction, but if you're eating 40 or 50 grams a day like me, a carrot
seems to fit in just fine, numbers-wise. So what's the deal? Btw, JC, no,
I did not get fat eating carrots.

I have only 3 flaws. My first flaw is thinking that I only have 3 flaws.

carrots are acceptable in moderation in Southbeach (after phase I), don't
peel them first, though, or you loose some of the fiber. IIRC, carrots
have a glycemic index of 47, which isn't terrible, but the GI increases if
you cook them, so eating them raw is preferred.

There is no deal....it if fits your budget, go for it.

The glycemic load is very small. Eat 'em.
