I have a bottle of ibuprofen from Costco. The inactive ingredients contain
cornstarch. Do you think this is okay to take during the Induction phase of
Atkins? My legs are killing me; I cannot sleep at night because of it. It
feels like when you try to stretch and it hurts. And yes I've obtained
potassium supplements and have been taking twice the dosage, daily.

don't be so obssessive about carbs.  if you're in pain, take a damn
advil.  it's not going to wreck your diet.

Twice the dosage isn't always better, you know. Some supplements can be
dangerous if abused.

And remember, there are THREE necessary supplements for leg cramps/pain:
potassium, calcium, and magnesium. Try adding the other two and see what
happens.

Do stop obsessing about a minute bit of cornstarch and take the pills!

There's only a trace of cornstarch to stick it together.
Even if the *whole* pill were cornstarch, it would take 5 of them to
make one gram.

Try a calcium/magnesium supplement for leg pain at night.

Take the pill, count it as one gram, no need to obsess at that level.
Obsess at a higher level ;^)

Don't bother at all with wimpy potassium tablets.  You'd need to take
them by the dozen.  Get Lite Salt (any brand but the light blue Mortons
is easy to spot).  It's 50-50 potassium and sodium salts.  A teaspoon
per day and you've taken a dozen tablets.

But leg cramps are as likely to be a calcium lack as a potassium one.
Get calcium tablets and start taking a couple at night, a couple in the
moring.  if it works, settle down to 2-3 daily later.
