I know people have expressed interest in low carb cruises. According
to USA Today there are now a few in the offing. See:
http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/news/2004-03-18-potter-main_x.htm

Basically it says: "The low-carb craze sets sail in September on the
first of four scheduled cruises to Mexico and the Caribbean on
Carnival Cruise Line. Up to 500 devotees of the Atkins, South Beach
and other carbohydrate-restrictive regimens are expected to sign up
for the "lifestyle cruises," organized by Florida-based Carb Counter
Cruises."

all about low carbing while on business trips. Apparently lots of
restaurant chains are adding LC choices to their menus, and some
airlines as well.

I was on a Costa cruise last Feb and to my surprise, a nice sized group
of Atkins devotees were on...had seminars and live cooking demos  that I
snuck into.

Sounds great - if it wan't on Carnival - yuck!  It's actually very
easy to eat LC on cruises - chilled shrimp platters, smoked salmon,
caviar, cheese, ABC omelettes - on & on.

I imagine so, but on a cruise devoted to LC there are likely to be other
choices other than salads and broccoli as side dishes, and maybe a nice
slice of LC cheesecake or something. I love shrimp and omelets and salads,
etc. but I know all those other great looking foods on a cruise would be a
serious temptation for me! So it would be nice to have a cruise devoted to
LC, not that I've ever even been on a cruise or are likely to be any time
soon. :-)

You notice how they round up the low-carbers and take them out into the
middle of the Carribbean in September -- the  peak of the Atlantic hurricane
season?  Ornish is behind this, I say!!
