Stop Hunger Pangs

I have recently had some success with a new approach to my eating. In the
past, I found myself plagued with hunger pangs. I didn't eat because I was
upset or emotionally triggered - I was hungry. In the past, I had success
with a Protein Sparing Modified Fast that migrated to a low-carb regime. I
kept my weight down for about 4 years.

Then my weight began to creep up, due partly to restaurant food (hidden
carbs) and sedentary lifestyle. But whenever I would try the old PSMF or
low carb, something went wrong, and I wouldn't lose. Worse, the hungry
feeling was overpowering.

Recently, I tried something new - I ran my meals through a blender.
Yes - it came out looking too thick for juice and too fine for a stew.
But for the first time, I noticed that I was satiated with eating about 1
cup of food.

This has been going on for a week, and my weight has dropped, and zero
hunger pangs.

The typical menu was 1 cup water, 1 bouillon cube, 1/2 cup (frozen) veggies,
(1) 300 calorie sirloin beef patty. I nuked the patty, and then nuked the
water and veggies. Blended them together.

In the beginning, I expected to devour such a "small" meal. But I was
repeatedly surprised that I could only finish half.

My son made a remark that got me thinking - he said my blended food was
easier to digest. Perhaps my digestion is getting too old, and needs some
help. I may look into protein digestion enzymes, too. However, it seems to
be working for the best.

Try blending your meals and see if it helps cut down the pangs.

That sounds like either a meal from the Jetson's or from Fear Factor.
I don't think I'd like it at all, but if it works for you, go for it!

It wasn't provided as a suggestion.
It was to show the quantity of food prepared.
Your own menu will vary... but try it blended.

Meat smoothies?
Better patent it before Starbucks starts selling them...

I have to say, no offense meant, this original post made me gag at the very
thought.... If it works for you... <shrug>  but...yuck.

Don't worry, it's not unlike a soup, but with crunchier veggies. It's not as
smooth as the output of a Vita-Mix.

You can get steak flavoured slurpees in Quebec. I saw the signs advertising
them last summer. Never tried one, nor heard from anyone who had. Anyone in
Quebec here? I saw the signs in Quebec City.

That reminded me of a study I read about years and years ago in a women's
magazine.  People who had a glass of water and a regular meal ate more than
people who had soup made from the same ingredients as the other meal, with
the same amount of water content.   Somehow soup was more filling than a
"dry" meal, even when the actual food content was the same.  *shrug*

I have only 3 flaws.  My first flaw is thinking that I only have 3 flaws.

It may have something to do with the rush of nutrients triggering signals to
the brain. So far, it has worked for me. I hope some others test it on
themselves, and see if it works in general.

I like this idea.  Thanks for the interesting suggestion.

Unfortunately, I hate extra work, like cleaning the blender parts every time
I use it.  So, I'm not likely to try this soon, but I do like the idea.
