I would like to make this soup which is in dana carpender's 15 minute
low-carb recipe book. However, I only have 1 cup of heavy cream, not 2 as
the recipe states. I am wondering if I can use the 1 cup of heavy cream I
have and then add 1 cup of half and half? Has anyone tried this soup
recipe? It sounds delicious :)

You can use one cup of heavy cream and one cup of water. That's the
normal recommendation.
I usually use one cup of heavy cream and one-half cup of water for my
soups. And the "water" is often chicken or beef broth depending on the
type of soup I am making.
