Hi! I have left a few postings before. I actually feel like maybe i shouldnt
write for fear of lack of support. I mean JC and Roger you can comer back with
some zingers. I will first say i have always been working on my weight. I come
from weighing 344lbs in 1997 to my present weight which can be anywhere from
188 to 195. I got back down to 185 and now i fell off the low carb wagon again.
People say dont beat yourself up over it look how far ou have come but its very
hard not too. I mean i will always look at myself as i was i think. Its always
a fear too that size 18 and 20 could be back in my future. I have to say i have
found the atkins or lowb WOE has helped me alot. I dont feel as tired when i
dont eat fries and potatoes or pasta. I actually dont miss it. I did the
induction for three weeks then gave into the fruit. I needed something sweet
and that was it. I love berries and just needed to know i could have something.
However i have been going through alot of personal bull crap and have been
working alot like last week over 100 hrs. like 101.5. I work 2 jobs and try to
plan ahead. I gave into pizza though I love pizza. Wishing there was some damn
lowcarb way to have it. Then of course because i failed i had bread not the
same day. I SUCK!!! And of course we all no what happens when we mess up. Fat
comes back we feel like sh.t. It seems this happens every time i start to feel
good about myself. My 12s were fitting good even baggy, now im comfortable in
my 14s. Maybe in im where im supposed to be. I dont look awful. But i guess its
more about proving to myself that i can do it. My husband loves me like i am.
My friends think i look great. But its personal dissatisfaction i guess. Has
anyone ever sabotaged themselves? I have  done it alot or had others my ex and
so forth when they wanted somwething they will be like cmon it cant hurt  you
should treat yourself yadda yadda yadda. Just interested in what others have to
say. I started back this morning on atkins. Have the standard headache and
going to go make eggs for dinner. Thanks for listening to me babble on

Nah, JC doesn't have enough imagination or wit to come up with any zingers.  He
just likes to stand on balconies and drop big rocks and dirt clods onto people's
heads.  After the first or second time of getting clonked on the head, most
people learn to walk around it because throwing them back at him has no effect.
Roger can be a little abrupt occasionally, but he's one of the good guys.

Karen -- You've done very well....You're having a few problems right
now...don't sweat it...just keep at it.  Eventually, you'll zero in on what
works for you.

Seconded.  We're all made up of many parts, and we all have a
self-destructive part that rears its ugly head every once in a while.  I've
found that the trick is to accept it, but don't give into it.

I have only 3 flaws.  My first flaw is thinking that I only have 3 flaws.

I think you have to avoid becoming a slave to dieting be it low carb, low
fat, low whatever....... Don't think of it as a diet and don't beat yourself
up for the occasional splurge, it's in our nature.  It becomes a problem
when you dwell on it.

I would like to congratulate you on your accomplishments!

It might be in your nature, and that's the problem.

Most of us probably aren't in danger of eating too little. :)

I got to target and then started to go back to some of my old ways, but when
I saw the first gradual weight gain I had to realise that I need hard and
fast rules to control my weight, like when LCing the rules are very straight
forward.

I LC in the week, I eat twice a day, b/fast and evening, then on saturdays I
eat what the hell I want, works for me anyway

ck.......r u there?

You can "sorta" have pizza.  I make a low-carb pizza by smooshing mild
Italian sausage in a pan, baking it until done, draining, and then
topping it and baking until the cheese melts.  But you may not have
time for that, so if you're out somewhere and pizza is what's on the
menu, order pizza and just eat the topping.

Berries are not necessarily bad - you can do berries in a low-carb
diet.  Being off induction isn't necessarily bad either, you're
*supposed* to go off induction and go on to OWL... and there can be
berries on OWL, depending on how it works for you.

What is bad is feeling out-of-control about it all.  When you feel
out-of-control and that you've screwed up, it's easy to just give up.
Working those kind of hours, it's really hard *not* to go there, as
you only have some much time and energy to focus on low-carbing.  You
can't sit down and work up daily menu's and log everything and all
that.

So... you need to find what works for you without requiring so much
time and energy.  When I was working crazy hours, I cooked my
breakfast and lunches for the week on the weekends ahead of time,
cooked the same fast dinner every night and kept low-carb snacks at
home and at work and in my car.  The only drive-through I hit was
Wendy's cause they had big enough chunks of lettuce for me to wrap
around the burger once I discarded the bun.

Sit down and figure out some fast and easy ways to stay low-carb that
fit into your current lifestyle.  If you feel in control, it will be
easier to either maintain or continue losing depending on what you
decide is an appropriate goal while you're working the crazy hours.

As long as you don't gain it all back and can feel in-control of
things, that will be victory enough for the time being.

Okay...I want to shop where you shop. I'm at 155, and my 12s are
fitting just right - how could your 12s fit at 40-50 pounds more???

But seriously...you're doing great. Look how far you've come - it
really is an incredibly accomplishment. The occasional slip isn't
worth beating yourself up over. Wake up tomorrow and start anew.

And, whenever your work load eases up a bit, see if you can't add a
little more exercise to the routine.
