Saw it on the store tonight. They had caeser . A quick skim of ingrediants
showed corn syrup but it was wayy down the list. it was 2.59 a bottle
compared to the carb options italian at 3.39. but i try to stear clear of
anything wtih corn syrup.

*Way down on the list* probably means it's got a fraction less than half a
gram carb, so they are allowed to say it has "zero". Most people just count
it as a half a carb and deal with it. I can't really see that such a tiny
tiny amount of corn syrup is going to be a problem for most people. There
are probably other things in the foods you think are also 0 carb that half
close to a half, coming from things you may not even recognize as a sugar.

When will they make a good low carb dressing, such as a red French dressing?

I think the other flavor was french about 85 percent positive. Walden farms
makes a french but it is nasty. i know that small amount of corn syrup isnt
going to hurt me I just stear clear of anythign made with corn syrup if we
all did, maybe they would switch to splenda :)

I make my own. None here are red French, they're all vinaigrette-based:

All except the ones with currant jelly and honey are low-carb.

Ewwww! I always thought that tasted like a mixture of ketchup, mayo
and corn syrup.

I agree. I have a friend who is allergic to it, and since learning
more, I think it is crap (IMHO). I would prefer sugar or honey to corn
syrup.

I've been buying a regular Caesar dressing at my IGA store (Canada) which
only has .2 gms per tablespoon. It's been around for a couple of years at
least.

Same here Irv. Actually here in town (Calgary) at Safeway there is a
brand of Ceasar dressing that has 0.6 gms per tbsp, and it's lighter
version has 0.3. Go figure!

Just throw some balsamic vinegar and olive oil on your salad. why eat
crappy tasting dressing that is supposed to taste like something
higher in carbs but doesn't?
Cindy - 26 Mar 2004 04:41 GMT
I thought balsalmic vinegar had sugar?
The carb options italian dressing is better then the normal wishbone italian
i love it.

I'm not counting .5 and I don't eat enough of other packaged food to matter.
My average carb intake is 12-17 a day.
