I call it LC2 for short. :)
I have been keeping a daily diary of my carb and calorie intake levels. As
you know, my calories have an absolute average limit (over a week) and I
"watch my carbs" by selecting lower-carb items.
I have not started to include wheat products, such as bread or pasta. And I
haven't had rice either. I may, but just haven't yet.
What I have been doing, which I never used to, is eating more low-calorie
snacks in the 6-12 carb range. For example, they have dried shiitake with
sesame covering here. One little bag is 97 calories and 11 carbs. Things
like that for crunchy mid-afternoon snacks.
I follow the "bonus plan" I outlined at my site <http://diet.lifemind.com>,
so on any one day I might eat a bit less and save the calories for the next
day, resetting each week.
Calculating a quick average since starting this on 3/2, I see that my
average daily caloric intake has been 1673 calories, maximum has been 2112
(just went over 2000 once) and minimum 1421.
For carbs, the average has been 68.4 carbs, maximum has been 100.4 (just
went over 100 once) and minimum 20.9.
Over the past 24 days I've lost 3.5 kg = 7.7 lb.
I should be able to calculate my average "base calories" from this. This
would be an estimate, since the weight is changing, but since I lost 7.7 lb,
that means that I ate a deficit of 3,500 cals x 7.7 = 26,950 calories.
Add that to the 40,152 calories I actually ate means I would have needed
67,102 calories to maintain my weight. That would have been 2,796 calories
per day. Since I weight 114.5 kg = 251.9 lb, that means I need about 11.1
calories per pound per day. A bit less than the 12 I originally estimated.
So, if my goal weight is 69 kg = 152 lb, I really should set my target
calories at just 1687 calories per day, or about 1700 calories per day.
Unless I add more exercise of course.
