I went back to tracking everything on Fitday to try to break my stall.  I'm
at 156 pounds now, want to lose another 20ish, been stalled since
mid-January.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure I've been eating less since I started doing Fitday,
because knowing I'm going to have to write stuff down makes me think before
I open my mouth and shove something in it.  :o) So I have no idea how much
I was eating before, when "no one was looking."

From the 18th to the 24th of this month, here are the averages of the
numbers I care about:

Calories: 1206
Carbs: 39g minus 13g fiber = 26g

Percentages:

Fat - 61%
Carbs - 9%
Protein - 28%
Alcohol - 2%

And that is right about where I want to be. :o) I hope it works.

I have only 3 flaws.  My first flaw is thinking that I only have 3 flaws.

Michelle, I admire your resolve.  Since Curt's (DH) terminal diagnosis, I
have suffered and slipped. I just ate 4 girl scout thin mints tonight. We
came home from his bowling nite to have lobster that we have been putting
off ofr at least a week and there he goes again. sleeping. I can't seem to
lose since we found out Curt was going to die. at least I havent' gained too
much. but it sucks so much.

Gosh, I'm so sorry to hear this lori....please try to just not gain too
much, and focus on Curt and being strong for everyone.  This just isn't a
time to worry too much about losing weight.

Nonsense.  I understand about the need for your attention being spent on
Curt, but don't use this as an excuse to overeat.  The two are not
mutually exclusive - i.e. you can eat right and attend what you need to
on the emotional side.  I'm not saying it will be easy - but stress
eating will get you the rest of your life if you don't work it out now.
Don't get down on yourself too much if you flub up, but do not give
up.  You will love yourself in the end for it.

It's more about not getting my exercise in because of being focused on
family when I had used the previous year to work solely on myself.

Lori,
Enjoy and treasure the time you have with Curt, that is the most important
thing right now as no doubt you realize.
Losing weight will happen when it happens.

Mark.

(Lori.)  Please do not focus on losing.  Focus on maintaining.  In every way.

*hugs*  I don't have that much resolve, really.  I just seem to keep my
carbs so low most of the time that when I slip, I still don't go over my
limit.  This past week I had raisins, a granola bar, a bite of a chocolate
croissant, and some pineapple.  No pigging out or going overboard, and
because I was so low the rest of those days, I didn't go over my carb
limit, but still, that's 4 times in just one week I've eaten stuff I
shouldn't have.  I'm glad my averages worked out ok, but those little
cheats give me pause.

Lori,

My heart goes out to you and your family.  Try to focus on
your mental health and well being while spending as much
time as you can with your husband. And don't worry too much
about weight gained...what goes up can come down again when
you're ready
